Not in daycare, but I once babysat for a very nice family we knew from church. They had one child (about 18 months old), but they wanted 2 babysitters to be there (we were 18-19 years old!) because "two sets of eyes are better than one," so I brought my best friend. We were in college and we worked in infant/toddler rooms at a well known daycare center in town. When we got there, she gave us a 15 minute (NOT exaggerating at all) lesson in how to properly change a diaper complete with return demonstrations. Then she told us not to give her daughter a bath because "it was too risky that something could happen." (I never would have anyway unless she asked me to.) Then she handed us a 5 page typed informational packet about her daughter, the schedule, the approved reading list, etc. The little girl was adorable and we all did fine-even though the parents were only gone for about an hour!
The lessons took longer than the time they were gone! I guess you never can be too careful! We both thought it was cute. I won't lie, though, it was hard to keep from giggling a little during the lesson-no eye contact with each other!
