    Ok, DCK showed up today!
Awkward drop off. DCM stood around a bit. Obviously wanting to talk about something. Finally questions me about the # of kids I had lasted week (spring break for SA). Admits to doing research on what I'm allowed to have. I wasn't over, I never go over, but I was full that day. AND I mispoke when I told DCD I have 9 other kids here - there was actually 8 others plus him. I'm allowed 9. I even told DCM I mispoke last week.
I can understand the concern and have no problem discussing numbers, regulations, etc with DCP but I wonder if they made any calls - if you know what I mean.
I told them the regs and described my numbers last week. Reassured them I don't go over ever.
    Would you be worried?

Do you have proof of who was there (ie sign in sheet)? If so I wouldn't be too concerned. They may just be fishing for an excuse to pull her out without looking like they are just over protective.

Ok, first they are concerned about the weather and you being outside and now they are worried about the number of kids you have?

I'm sorry but sounds a little fishy to me....almost sounds like they are looking to pull and are wanting to find a valid reason to maybe get out of any type of notice/payment requirement you have.

I could NOT work with a parent that questioned me so much about my decisions and practices AFTER enrolling.

Yes, I do have sign in out sheets! I didn't think of that. Thanks.
          Could be right.
Only thing mentioned on cold weather was, We don't mind as long has she has the right clothes (snow suit was mentioned :
Mind you, DCK didn't come with a coat on and the only difference with today's weather is that the sun is out. Its very cold.

I might call my licensor just to make her aware of the situation. But I agree with Blackcat, they seem to be fishing.

I bet they looked for care elsewhere and couldn't find anything good so they are trying to be knit picky about how you do things. Sounds like they don't want her in home daycare with a lot of Kids. The outside thing was just an excuse.

Exactly. Its going to be uncomfortable now and I don't like that.
                Its weird.

I was happier when I thought they left.
My policies say 5 business days of no call no show and you're termed. It didn't get that far

I bet I get a 2 WEEK notice as soon as they reach the end of the month, as it was all prepaid and they gave a 2 WEEK deposit.

There you go. That's the money shot right there.

...they have already paid you and can't really ask for a refund just because so they are looking to get their money's worth ( or find a legal loophole) and then they are gone.

I would bet all my money on that being the case.

Maybe. Infant spots are hard to find.
I bet they want a nanny though.
But also their parents are visiting.

                        I hope so.
I have no desire to work with this family any longer.

I didn't read through to see if you already said this, but why not let them go? "While I love caring for Susie, it has become clear this is not a good fit. I think you might be happier with more individualized care."

                            I'm considering this as well.

The more I think about it, I bet dad is pushing mom to leave. He wanted a nanny, she wanted a daycare. They started 4 months ago and prepid the whole 4 month. Dad is likely finding anything he can to convince mom since the 4 months is up soon. So whatever, I don't want unhappy clients.

OT- but I'm just curious, could a family ask for a refund if they prepay and then decide to term? (Anything after the tuition required for the contracted notice, of course)?
