Lol we're Sicilian too. My cousin's son calls my aunt and uncle Nonna and Nonnu. But it's kinda confusing because my Nonna lives with them and she has Alzheimer's so when he calls for his Nonna, Big Nonna thinks he is calling for her. My mom wants to be called Nonna too but when I have grandkids I want to be called "Nonni" so that there isn't as much confusion (it also sounds younger). Lol that's a good Idea for another thread: Nicknames for Grandparent!- Flag

Someone touched on this already but I'm soooo over the Aiden, Hayden, Payton, Brayden, Kaiden, Drayden, Graydon, Jayden, Layton, craze. Our oldest (18) is named one of these. It is a family name on two sides of our family and about a decade ago the popularity exploded on the west coast for these names. I feel sorry for all of the kids in the same classroom with all of their rhyming names. Reminds me of that song or band name....what was it? 27 Jennifer's or something? They are nice names but so over done now. The older I get the mor sentimental I get for ancestral names with not made up spellings. Just me.
Congrats to the pregnant Mommies.

I loved the name Harper, but I worry now that Victoria Beckham used it - that it will be everywhere. There are already 2 girls I went to HS with who named daughters Harper. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name !- Flag

The mom I nanny for just had a baby girl named Hailey. But I'm not sure how she spells it yet because they have a son named Aedan so IDK if they are going to spell it traditionally or one of the many new ways.- Flag

I actually heard that names supposedly do really effect one's personality, even their politics. Supposedly those named Kennedy tend to be more liberal and those named Reagan tend to be more conservative.- Flag

My grandsons have a cousin named Sunshine, one named Summer and one named Gunnar...all same family.
I have a Chaselyn (girl) here because her mom has 3 other girls and didn't have a boy to name Chase (her maiden name) so she added Lyn on to the end so her name wouldn't be taken as a boy's name.
I've had an Xavier, a Maddax, a Tiffany, Gage (which I thought was very unusual at the time), his brother named Dayton, and my newest little one starting in the fall is Brantley...- Flag

Brantley seems on trend with what others were talking about before. Adding -len or -ley to a name to make it unique.- Flag
