    I just did an oops. Not dc related but my dh is always up for work at 5 so I go about my business, it's 5:15 and I'm getting a little worried. I wake him up and ask if he's going to work. He asks me what day is it.
    Oops. It's Saturday.

        Where's the rum?

        DCM came in this morning with a rum cake for our family. She says,"It's pretty potent, so you might want a coke with it, and you should probably wait until naptime to try it!"

              I began my day by walking into my classroom to discover a race bike and travel case in the middle of the floor.:confused:

              Ah the joys of running a daycare and being married to a triathlete.::

                Last half hour of the day before outside time and can't find dcb socks. I don't know what the heck is going on because if you saw my daycare there's literally no where the kids can reach to hide them at that point of the day. Now it's outside time just gonna put spares I guess to take him out. I'm totally perplexed. We're outside playing now and parents are going to start picking up. How am I gonna tell parents the kids wearing spares because his socks evaporated? Sunlight's shining down on these little cutez and... what's this? Dcb onesie is looking kinda... lumpy...

                  I had a kid hide there socks in the front of a fire truck. The doors opened on it but you realy could not get much in there. Found them almost two weeks after they went missing. I had torn the playroom apart not understanding where they went.

                    My 3 year old dcb was coughing, so I said, "can you please catch your cough in your elbow?"

                    He replied, "nope"

                    So I told him he couldn't sit near the baby. He hops up. moves his chair across the room, and sits back down. He wasn't being snarky, just made the decision that moving his arm was too much work, but moving across the room was perfectly possible.

                    Typical 3 year old! ::

                      So my DH and I were talking with the daycare kids at lunch today about all the different kinds of foods there are and which ones they’ve eaten before etc...
                      DCB (4yrs) says “yeah we went to the Chinese place and they have cookies with manuals”

                      I asked “manuals?”

                      He said “yeah you break these cookie things open and there’s this paper inside that tells you what you’re suppose to do”

                      ::::

                        One of those "streams crossing" moments I seem to find myself in. Put a new big plastic tube in the classroom. Kids are having fun using it with matchbox cars. I wonder what the reaction of my "kind of hippie" DCM will be if she finds out it's the protective sleeve out of a 120MM tank ammo container I bought to use as an oil tank in my shop. ::

                          That awkward moment when your "Not a Chance" list becomes longer than your Waitlist. I'm there. ::::

                          Local Facebook mommy groups have become such a fantastic free interviewing and screening tool. I do hope the trend of entitlement ends soon.

                            YES!

                            I now have a FEE attached to my wait list. It's small, but it shows serious intent and I will refund within a year of anticipated enrollment date (childs age+expected opening=date I set)

                            I have 5 on it and 10 never even offered the paperwork.
