One of my families is about to head off to Disneyland. Dcb5, who has severe speech delays, keeps trying to tell me that he and his dad are going on the Buh-wy-eah ride. It sounded an awful lot like he was saying they were going on the Budweiser ride.

I finally had to ask dcd to clarify. Turns out there's a Buzz Lightyear ride. Phew!

Dcm: can you just let snowflake run around without a diaper to clear up His rash from having diarrhea at home?
                Me: No. (silence)
Dcm: (silence). Then “oh because you have carpet”
Me: yes and It’s unsanitary. Let me go remove his diaper so he can be diaper free at home
DCM: NO! I have wood floors and he’d Ruin them
                With peeing & poop!!!
Me: But he REALLY should be diaper free. You just said it and o AGREE 100%. (Silence)
Dcm: snowflake! It’s time to go home!!!!

Perfect example of expecting us to do things at dc that they won't do at home.

"Miss Pepperth, you look just like Anna from frozen with the white stripe in your hair." This, from a 5 year old, is a major compliment...I think.

2.5 yo dcg does not want to sleep. As long as she stays in one place, there isn't much more I can do. Have tried everything short of hog tying and duct taping. So she's in there just chattering away, talking about anything and everything, some words I can understand but some gibberish. Very cute gibberish. So my phone rings and she answers it(not really) says hewwo and just keeps talking to someone she's imagining. Maybe it's one of those times you just had to be here but she's so darn precious and sweet. I'm gonna miss this little munchkin.

Uhoh she just came tiptoeing around the corner.

This started out as something vent worthy but in the end is actually kind of funny....

DCD comes to pick up. DCM does 95% of all drop offs/pick ups but has something going on this week so DCD is doing it all. He's done it before and let's just say he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but he's a nice enough guy...just doesn't seem to have a clue about parenting...(and this is #2 child). Child just turned 2 yrs old a few weeks ago.

Anyways DCD comes to pick up. DCK is ready to go. I change everyone and give them a little "freshen up" (wiping faces/hands and checking clothing) just prior to when I know they'll be picked up so everyone goes home fresh and clean.

DCD gets child. They are gone for about 10 minutes and he returns. I thought they maybe forgot something...

Nope. DCD comes in carrying DCK and says: "Miss BC, we've got a little situation here."

                            Me "Oh, what's wrong?"

DCD: "DCK had a blow out in the car and needs new pants"

THEN HE ATTEMPTS TO HAND DCK TO ME OVER THE GATE!

I back away and say "DCK has extra clothing in their cubby basket" and I point towards the basket.

                            DCD looks a bit dumbfounded.
I just know he's waiting for me to take care of it.

He asks if I have a plastic bag and a few wet wipes....

I hand him a bag and assume he is going to change DCK.

                            Nope, he just stands there.

After a few minutes...he says "Well I suppose I can just take DCK home."

SO he scoops DCK up and walks back to the car. :: ::

                              Daycare hack:
When the kids realize the sidewalk disappeared during nap time, tell them they're all detectives and their job is to find out where the sidewalk went.

Enjoy 20 minutes of children getting along, and a hot cup of coffee, while the detectives do their detecting.
