I'll tell you what... I totally agree that discipline is the better word. I'm sorry this caused such a thing! DC girl has used toddler toys for the second day in a row, she actually came in this afternoon with a note she wrote at school. It says:
Mrs. Jessie. I am sorry I drawed on you table. It was wrong. I will ask before I use markers and I will be respecting. I am sorry.

So the issue is a non issue. She seems to be doing better, and might be able to move to bigger toys tomorrow.

    Thank you for your advice

OK dear, you asked for advice so now I'm going to give it.

You "want a punishment that will really sting." That sure sounds like you want revenge - against a child or her Mother or both.

I would like to advise you to be more cautious when you post things here since it can be viewed by ANYONE. You don't have to be a member here to read this. Can you imagine this child's Mother reading this on a public forum?
Yes, I did ask for advice. I am going to reply to your points:
    1. Yes, I needed a punshment more strict than simply sitting on the wall. I wanted something that would bother the child enough to make her think. I don't need "revenge" ! I'm an adult! I was "angry" at her yes, even her mother. But no, I have no need for revenge. If I ever feel the need for revenge it is high past time to terminate services.

    2. Oh yes, I would be fine with all of the dc parents reading my responses on the forum. I am not ashamed that I feel anger, I'm not ashamed that I went to my peers and asked for help, and I'm certainly not ashamed that I worked out a punishment for the young lady. Actually most of what I said in the original post I said to her mother. I think my exact quote was "Well, E will owe me a punishment on Monday for her actions. I am angry and frustrated that she would mark on the table and not feel badly about it. Do you have any suggestions?) I have not called the child names or done anything inappropriate.

Please stop acting like I commited a crime. I have a bunch of kids with great behavior. I won't ask for "punishment" advice again.
