...but it's ticking me off anyway. Seriously, when did people get so rude and have such a sense of entitlement?
Issue #1:
New family with 2.5yo DCB and SA DCG tries to drop off at 7:25. I open at 7:30, discussed at length at interview that I charge an extra $5 per day for earlier drop-off, DCM doesn't want to pay extra so says she'd make the 7:30 work. No issue for the first 2 weeks until today. I waited until 7:28 (those 3 minutes were an eternity!) then opened door, said she was a few minutes early, reminded her of my policy. DCM whines that she's been late to work the days I don't "let" SA girl come, and she WILL drop-off DCB early those days. Oh, you will, will you? I reminded her that it will be an additional $10 per week then, and shall we start with this week, and will that be cash or a check?
Of course, that got her mad and she threatened that they are going to have to find a new place. Well, I'm not going to wait for them to term me. Won't they be surprised when THEY get a term notice on Monday? I have been struggling with them anyway, for a variety of reasons, and was looking for an out, anyway.
Issue #2:
Remember my total jerk DCD that contracted and pays for 3 days, but kept dropping baby DCG off 4 or 5 days week after week? Remember how I put my foot down and said NO MORE FREE DAYS, and they were so angry, especially DCD? Well, they got over it, stayed with me, and things have been beautiful since. Until today. DCD texted me last night that Grandma couldn't watch DCG today, so they needed 4 days. This is the first time they have not traded and asked for an extra day since then. I was tempted to remind in text of extra payment, but thought I shouldn't assume they are going to try to stiff me. They did. I am going to e-mail and text both parents that payment is short, and I can just feel that it is going to turn into a confrontation. I just know it.
It's not even Monday! I will count my blessings in that!
