Right? Even "good" families, that you believe will actually follow the rules, often turn out to be "easiest" families.
I am so tired of hearing *** "can't" do that. I have to do it for her. Well, of course they can't if you never let them try!! But it is easier to just do it for them.

I'd give back every cent I earned caring for certain kids if I could see the ultimate outcome years down the road.

I have one past DCB who seriously still can't tie his own shoes.

      He is in 5th grade.

His mom just keeps saying, it is no big deal.

I have a 14 yo with a variety of diagnoses that just learned about a year ago. However, we worked on it. Not all the time, but often. I never told him he "couldn't do it" nor did I say "no big deal." Sigh.

Can you imagine that poor kid in high school?
"Hey, dude, your shoe is untied." "Uh, coach, can you tie my shoe?" Sigh

We don't use a syrup sweetener very often anyway so I guess a 45 minute drive drive to get a few jars of honey will be ok. As long as it keeps it will probably last us a pretty long time. Thanks for the info.
Do you have a CSA or Farmers Market nearby? Ours sell honey every week! Some CSAs have local honey as an add-on item. We can get honey from a local source in our grocery store, it's pricey but worth it to me.

Yes we have a farmer's market right across the road every Thursday, its seriously a 5 minute walk from my house, but they don't have a vendor that sells honey. It's actually very small which is too bad. We have other farmers markets but for some reason they're always during the day and end early. The one across the road may be small but they end at 7pm which is why I can make it. I get all of our lettuce, kale, spinach and most of our fruits there.

I think the fruit stand on Olivis Dr. has honey (RJ's big red barn looking building). Or my hubby drives by the honey farm quite a bit I can have him get some and bring it to the next DC association meeting.
