Okay here is the update on the sippy. I know it is going to take dcg some time to get used to, but as of now she is screaming and not drinking from the cup and she has been since the last 20 minutes and my other dcks are still down for nap.

I say if they are drinking everything the need from the cup, then give up the bottle!
I don't feed her table food here. When dcm enrolled her she asked if she could send her baby food that she makes up at home along with 2 bottles.

Did mom leave a bottle just in case?

If not, I'd call her to pick up or bring a bottle because leaving her to fend for herself when she is clearly NOT that well versed on the sippy is just mean.

I'd make mom leave a bottle until the transition is 100% successful.

...as for the sippy and refrigerating, I don't. I just put a tiny amount in the cup and when the meal is over, the cup gets dumped. If they want/need more during the meal, I just add more then.

No she did not leave a bottle because she said dcg did so well with the sippy.

Dcm leaving a bottle here will be the only other way I allow the sippy cup after today.

My friend actually does this too. She had them eating infant cereal by 6weeks, then the bottle went away completely after 6 mos. Her son is just 16 months now and she is trying to potty train already. My husband and I just wanted our daughter to be a baby as long as we could knowing she would be our last and thinking that kids are forced to grow up too fast.

I have a dcm that does not want to tell her 2 yr old no she can't have a bottle at bedtime. She has been off of a bottle completely here at daycare between 13-15 months.

I also have a dcb that is 2 who still ****s a bottle at home, but hasn't had a bottle here since he was 12 months. He also comes in with a paci in his mouth every morning and hand it off to the dcp as they are leaving out the door. Dcm said they don't know what they would do at home if dcb didn't have a paci:confused:

call her and ask for a bottle
I always have parents leave bottles here, no back and fourth with bottles.

Clearly she is not ready to give up bottle yet. Maybe at home, but at daycare she is not ready. That is ok-

I spoke with dcm about leaving a bottle here and she was fine with doing that.

Today she didn't send dcg with the sippy cups, she had her bottles made up.
