Okay here is the update on the sippy. I know it is going to take dcg some time to get used to, but as of now she is screaming and not drinking from the cup and she has been since the last 20 minutes and my other dcks are still down for nap.
Sippy Cup?

I give sippies as soon as they start eating at the table (8 months here), but most times the parents have already started them. Some have still kept the bottle until a year and others have successfully drank everything from the sippy before that time. Just depends on the kiddo. I say if they are drinking everything the need from the cup, then give up the bottle!- Flag

If not, I'd call her to pick up or bring a bottle because leaving her to fend for herself when she is clearly NOT that well versed on the sippy is just mean.
I'd make mom leave a bottle until the transition is 100% successful.
...as for the sippy and refrigerating, I don't. I just put a tiny amount in the cup and when the meal is over, the cup gets dumped. If they want/need more during the meal, I just add more then.- Flag

Did mom leave a bottle just in case?

Dcm leaving a bottle here will be the only other way I allow the sippy cup after today.- Flag

My friend actually does this too. She had them eating infant cereal by 6weeks, then the bottle went away completely after 6 mos. Her son is just 16 months now and she is trying to potty train already. My husband and I just wanted our daughter to be a baby as long as we could knowing she would be our last and thinking that kids are forced to grow up too fast.
I have a dcm that does not want to tell her 2 yr old no she can't have a bottle at bedtime. She has been off of a bottle completely here at daycare between 13-15 months.- Flag

I always have parents leave bottles here, no back and fourth with bottles.
Clearly she is not ready to give up bottle yet. Maybe at home, but at daycare she is not ready. That is ok-- Flag
