There are dried bananas that are sweetened and some that aren't. My kids (not dck) LOVE dried fruit, and they get it for dessert.

My pasta sauce can be a veggie too

My kids schools also serve that junk daily. I NEVER have them buy lunch. It never meets all of the components and they have a 'fresh fruit option' once a week at lunch/Fridays with pizza.

I don't eat Nutella. I've never even tried it. We don't eat it because it has too many carbs/sugar. (21 grams of sugar in 2 Tbs ) That's a lot!
I have never had it either!

well...you definately should try it just once. It's chocolate/hazelnut. yumm!

Yeah, high in sugar, but like all things...moderation is the key. I actually rarely eat it, and my own kids go through fazes. I have made homemade ice cream with it, and that is really good!

For a grown up version, try vanilla ice cream blended with Frangelica and chocolate liquor.

It is definitely a starchy food but I would consider it a vegetable long before I would consider it a grain.

Also, it is sad but I truly believe the food program isn't always ALL about healthy eating and nutrition half as much as it is about money and listening to the corn industry.

I recently watched a documentary on Netflix called "Hungry for a Change"....and holy cow was it enlightening about what horrible things the food industry does to our food in order to keep selling it.

If you have Netflix, it is definitely worth watching.

Man you are catching all my typos today. Lol. I'm using the iPad ...

Yeah not a grain but a starch.

So that would mean this is an approved meal, which I would never serve...

                Chicken nuggets
                Rice
                Potato
                Watermelon
                Milk.

Yep. It would be completely credible.

                  Sad huh?
