Least favorite DCBaby is being a terror again today. Was awake at 4:30am at home, and has only napped 30 minutes for me since arriving 4 hours ago. Screaming and angry spitting and keeping all my other kids awake, even while I hold him. Little does he know, I will this battle.- Flag

I like it.I know many don't on this forum but I enjoy it. I don't go out socially with the families while they're enrolled here and I always enforce my policies. There aren't any blurred lines.

Backstory: last fall I took a medically fragile child for a mom who NEEDED daycare. It went OK. I never really cared for mom because she always seemed evasive and a little weird. After about 12 weeks, she suddenly pulled without notice. Said child was going to be cared for by a relative. OK, whatever. Next week, I see posts on Facebook about how lucky she was to have FINALLY gotten into the daycare that she's been on the wait list for, and how WONDERFUL it was there, and how GRATEFUL she is to know her child is safe and well cared for. Ok, double whatever.
Here's the vent: This bio has invited me to her wedding! AND her child's birthday party. I ignored the invites. I don't have a relationship with these people, I don't even like them. Now, I get demands for gifts! I'm supposed to attend her bridal home party (with a jewelry company) to help her finance her wedding jewelry, it's OK if I don't come, but she really NEEDS me to buy something. She send me a wish list for her daughter's birthday party, and twice I've received messages from her with her with links to her bridal registry. I'm also invited to the bridal shower and the wedding reception.
How stupid are people? Does she really think that I'm going to show up for these events, or even send a gift? She left me owing $40. She hasn't directly bad mouthed me, but she has gushed and gushed about her new daycare, which rubbed me the wrong way (her new daycare, BTW, tries to poach my clients on a regular basis, straight out asking them to come to her place because she's cheaper). Our relationship was probably the most superficial daycare relationship I've ever had. There was no implication of friendship or even that we liked one another.
I can't believe that she can't take a hint. I've thought of just blocking her messages on FB, but I'm not threatened by them, just in utter awe of her sense of entitlement.- Flag

Someone put a daycare sign by mine on the main highway advertising an unlicensed day school....for ages 3-5....good luck with that.:

cut off from work went to go enroll my daughter in to the school district in which the daycare was located she attended the same school last year and rode the bus to and from school from the daycare after the enrollment I went to the daycare to pick her up and was handed a letter that states I am no longer going to be able to care for your daughter at the daycare anymore effective August 1st I am no longer going to be able to care for children who do not have younger siblings currently enrolled here at the daycare we have truly enjoyed caring for your daughter over the years but I have such a huge number of new kindergarten children going to school that have younger siblings here in preschool that I am having to change her after school policy she has been at the stake here for the past three years can they legally do this or would it be discriminating
I have the same policy- only school age children who have a younger full time sibling enrolled in care.
I find it makes the transition easier to 'school' on most kids when they move daycare to SA care and school at/near the same time.- Flag

That said, At the end of the day the provider can chose what type of care she's willing to offer, and that's not discrimination. However this all should have been in writing and discussed beforehand, IMO.
Hopefully you will be able to find an new care situation that better suits your needs.- Flag

Thankfully it was just me in the car... daughter & grands were in Florida waiting for me ... got there 24 hrs later than planned which made me miss seeing my other DD (my youngest who is in the Navy) because she had a very short leave & they were trying to surprise me. Life happens
The storms changed some of my other plans as well, but all in all I had fun and got a great tan; today the DCP that woke me Monday actually has to go in later today and others won't arrive 'til at least 8am, so I went to Panera and got my free coffee and am sitting here in peace & quiet- Flag

DCK that will NOT sleep past 2:30, no matter what. Everyone used to nap until after 3, but he goes from sleeping to screaming in a breath and wakes everyone else.- Flag

Well I may have had a nice quiet day to start, but lunch & nap will be all messed up because the same DCP let little man sleep until 9:30 and is now feeding him (knowing full well I do lunch at 11am and nap at Noon)... it's going to be a long day now
It's in the Policies that all children 12 months and older are on a schedule here for meals; just thankful the other 2 older babes are on vacation, so I won't be wasting too much food. It's just been me and the 5 month old for just over an hr & he's still sleeping- Flag
