I also think I'd say something like, oh and Sarah as much as I'd love to have extra late fees to spend on our trip, please make sure to pick up Georgia on time, I need to leave the house by 1pm.

WOW... that is kind of rude for her to just assume that you are going to do that for her... I would flat out say NO.. I have other plans that afternoon which is why I am closing at 1pm..... and just leave it at that... honestly once you start doing things like that for them they are always taking advantage... I hate it...

You know, all joking aside, I would talk to this mom and tell her look,
you know I would really love to help you, but I can't.

I am really concerned that you wont have your child picked up on time which will create a huge issue for my family. I want to feel secure knowing that you will have johnny picked up on time on Friday. can you please let me know who will be picking him up on Friday at 1:00. I don't mean to be rude, but I have given you plenty of time to find alternate care for johnny.

Maybe you can also suggest that someone else can watch him on this day so that she does not have to leave work early. Who is her back up when he is sick?

OMG I really feel petty complaining about my little paycheck. I am sorry she expects this of you! What are you going to do? I would refuse. Absolutley refuse! Use the excuse there's no room in the car due to baggage or that you aren't going that way and even better what about traveling over state lines policies. I don't even like taking my sons friends over state lines. Good luck to you!! I swear it never ceases to amaze me how much parents expect these days!
