    No She Didn't!!

My family and I have been planning a weekend away since May. I notified all my DCP mid July that I would be closing at 1pm on Friday September 16th. THIS FRIDAY! We are going out of town 3hrs away and plan on picking our kids up at 3pm at school and heading right out. I'm closing at 1pm so I can make sure the care is packed and do last min shopping. This morning I have a DCM say to me this morning at drop off... "So where are you going?" I told her and she was like "Well can you just drop DCB off in ***** (another town that she works in that is 1hr from here) on your way threw?" I was like Are you serious!!! I didn't know what to say. She has no back up care and was planning on me to just drop him off at her salon so she can watch him for a few hrs there!! This really ticked me off considering how far in advance I gave notice! I told her I didn't know if we were going to be traveling that way (there is 2 ways to go about the same distance). I can't believe how inconsiderate parents can be!!! I'm so sick of putting my family and my self on the back burner!!

Do any of you have parents like this??

I think my venting is done!!

I used to have parents like that but then I grew a pretty good backbone after being put in that kind of predicament so many times. Now I haven't had a parent like that in years!!

I hope you are NOT going to do this for her?!? Her transportation and back up problems are not your problems. Plus if you do it just because it isn't that big of a deal, you will be setting yourself up for future catering....

Hope you have a wonderful vacation!!!

Tell her you can't legally transport out of city limits.

I have parents ask favors, which I dont mind at all, if i am going that way, or if they are appreciative. I cant believe she asked you to dropoff on way out of town! No way! Hope you are not doing it!

I would say no just on the principle of the thing. if you bail her out, she will always assume you are willing to do the same thing.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I had to check on some things that were concerning me about your request. I am not approved to provide transportation for any child in care. My insurance does not allow it. Sorry.".

Or you can just say no, its not on our way.

This is what I am afraid of LittleD... If it happens there will be heck to pay... and I start calling her emergency contacts if I can't get a hold of her.

And No I'm not doing it. It wasn't a last minute thing and honestly if a DCP can't respect me and my time with MY family I got two words for em I guess... BYE-BYE!!!

IF, and I say IF, she was a good friend that treated you with respect AND the drop off was on your way - I would consider it. Otherwise the answer would be, sorry, it's out of our way and Johnny needs to be picked up by 1:00PM OR I will be charging $1 for every minute that you're late.

Wow that's crazy..some people have no common sensenor courtesy! I would do as other suggested, no and late feeS IF not picked up on time that maybe should double due to any inconvenience to you and your family!
