I have a 4 year old dcb who comes to me every day. He has been potty trained for at least 2 years, and is extremely smart.
His dad asked me earlier this week what to do about him wetting the bed EVERY single night. I told him all I had ever heard was to make them go potty right before bed, and make sure they don't get anything to drink before bed, but that I would research it and let him know what I learned.
Well, dcd says they make him potty every night before bed, but they aren't going to make him NOT take a drink if he's thirsty. And every single night, he wets the bed.
He has started doing the same thing at naptime with me. We eat lunch at 12, and nap is at 1:30. He doesn't have anything to drink between those times, and he pees right before bed EVERY day.
I did some research online and people have said pull-ups at nap/bedtime. Dcd and I talked about this, and he says pull-ups are just diapers, and may make him regress even while he's awake.
Dcb gets VERY embarrassed when he does it at daycare, and dcd says he cries when he does it at home.
Any suggestions/advice for this dcd, dcb, and myself?
Thanks
