I got so tired of getting doctors notes saying the child was okay to return to daycare that I changed my policy to this:
A note from your physician STATING YOUR CHILD'S DIAGNOSIS is required to return to daycare. It will then be at the discretion of the provider to determine if you child is able to return to daycare.
Parent's have it too easy today...they take a kid to the doctor and they say they need a note for their child to return to daycare. BAM...doctor writes a note. It doesn't say whether he is ill, infected or contagious. It should be up to US to decide whether we want the child there or not. If they can not function for the duration they need to be in care, they should not attend. Some of these parents need to take the responsibility to stay home with their sick babies.
I always tell prospective clients off the bat that they need to have job flexibility and staying home with a sick one is sometimes the best medicine.
