    Ugh Vent Ugh

    is it friday yet?? Lol

I had two sick kids here today, neither were sent home. When DCM arrived to pick up her child I said your DCK has a fever of 101.5 can't come back tomorrow, she said oh it's just teething, we will see you tomorrow, as she is walking about the door with the kid it tow.

DCM#2 i said your DCK is sick and does not have a fever, but has a very thick green runny nose, constant coughin, wheezing, and cried most of the day. DCM says Oh darn, guess we will have to wear our sweatshirts after we get done swimming tonight..........

I wonder if when I talk all they hear is wat wat wnt wnt...just like in Charlie Brown............

Ughhhh I am dreading tomorrow when I turn them away in the morning...
Or should I call them tonight and tell them?

    ugh

As they were walking out the door poo-poo'ing your assessment of their child's health would have been the appropriate time to exclude them from care tomorrow.

You told them at pick. Why call them and tell them again? They aren't going to listen then either. But, I bet they listen in the morning, when you tell them, sorry, I told you yesterday at pick up kiddo was sick. Be sure and reread your contract/PHB.

I even took a pic of the temporal scanner and sent it to her via text saying wanted to give you a heads up.. My thought exactly, I will have to send away in the morning.

she did tell them at pick up that the child couldn't come tomorrow; she's guessing that they will probably ignore that and show up anyway, since the mom brushed it off as teething.

daycare, I wouldn't call them tonight, but I would be prepared to tell them tomorrow morning. ****s, but you told them already today and it's their responsibility to be, er, responsible. You did your job; now have a nice relaxing evening!
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

thank you.. I am gearing up to go to the gym and blow off some steam... maybe I should get upset more often to improve my workouts...

thanks, I will deal with it in the morning.

I hate the 'he's teething' excuse for a fever! That one never flies in my house!!

I would send them both a text tonight saying something like... sorry your children are excluded tomorrow, thanks following policy.... see you all when they are 24 hours symptoms free!!

I did miss that part of the sentence for the first kid, but it was not mentioned for the second kid. My point, however, is when the mom said "oh, it's just teething", that's when it would be appropriate to say something like "maybe it is, but remember my policy is to exclude for 24 hours after a fever. See you Thursday".

I am embaressed to admit that I don't know how to post links ...

DAYCARE....google "mayo clinic teething". The first page on the search is called something like "soothing sore gums" at the mayo clinic website. See where it says teething doesn't cause fevers? Print that page out tonight and highlight that part. Tell her if she wants to argue about fevers to call the Mayo clinic :: ......You might also copy your sick policy and highlight the section on fevers and give that to her also.

                  Good luck tomorrow.....

You click the icon that looks like a tiny little globe with a chain link at the bottom of it. It's to the left of the icon with a link that has a big red X over it. Anyway, it will pop up a box where you type (or paste in) the actual web address that you want someone to see, then you click "ok". It will result in the following:

Explore the list of top daycares in USA. Search best daycares using zip code or locations including cities and states.

Hope that made sense! Hope it helps.

so now the DCM #1 (child that had fever) is texting me saying well she is eating now and seems happy. I gave her tylenol so her fever went down. So far so good???

Now what? Umm NO, she cant come back until free of fever for 24 hours without the aid of medication.... I hate conflict and I hate this part of my job......

If she is sending texts to you tonight then maybe you can get this over with tonight.

Just send her a brief text stating " She needs to be fever free for at least 24 hours without medicine before she can be in daycare. I hope to see you on Thursday. "

Lol that is exactly what I text her back including that I didn't want to assume that it was teething and risk another child getting sick. Of course I did not get a response. Ugh dreading tomorrow when dad comes to drop off the older brother
