thanks guys I just don't get it, but that's ok...because I'm not sure I WANT to understand why someone would be so narrow minded. I'm kind of a moderate I guess, because I GET both sides of the argument, a lot of conservatives have very specific morals and can not justify voting for someone who goes against their moral values...I totally get that and I respect people for standing up for their personal beliefs, they shouldn't be judged for swimming against the stream! On the other hand, I think liberals get a bad rap for things like welfare funding, etc etc...like take Ted Kennedy for example, the man was filthy rich and could afford anything he wants, medical care, food, housing, none of them were an issue for HIM, so you have to come to the conclusion that what he was fighting for, he truly thought was the right thing to do, and you can't judge someone for doing what they really truly think is right...even if you think it's wrong...so I could never let politics form my opinion on someone!!!

My favorite part is where she told you she was "duped." How DARE you not tell her what news channel your husband may or may not be watching at any given moment in HIS home AFTER hours? And, how dare you not give her a detailed account of your political views, religious preferences, a list of possible names you considered for your first born, your parents' occupations, your favorite color preference, etc. Because if you fail to disclose, in detail, all of that information at the time of the interview with the parent then you are for sure "duping" that parent.

This is too funny! :: You handled it very well, though. Did she respond after your email?

Awesome!! I love your response. I have had FOX news on when dcp arrive in the a.m. occasionally and honestly if that is reason for them to pull their child out of my daycare..... dont let the door hit you in the ....uh.... behind!

I wrote back "Actually, I can't disregard your first email, because unfortunately, I can't work with someone who is so willing to jump off the deep end and spew accusations at me for areas of my life that you have no right to be a part of. See, your issue wasn't with the tv being ON (which I might have been able to understand) you issue was with what was on the TV (which again, I would have been able to understand if someone inappropriate was on). Regardless of political opinions, they aren't what make a good parent, or a good provider, they are a separate part of who we are as individuals, and essentially what you said when you thought i was an ignorant conservative is that who I am as a person outside of who I am as a provider, isn't good enough...and I don't need that negative energy in my life. I wish you the best on your search for replacement drop in care."

Wow, I just got around to reading this LONG thread, . So funny and thanks for the reminder to keep some things to myself! I'm currently in this stage of "keeping my opinions to myself" at my job because I can tell others judge me until they can trust me.

I think it was all a wonderful response and I would have had a hard time keeping my mouth shut....it would have been along the lines of "EXCUSE ME?!" and getting upset. You handled it well!

Wow! Yeah we LOVE Fox news! I have the kids downstairs, but the parents HAVE to know where we are politically because Hubs has a yard sign out for his top pick every election. On that note though I serve right, left, center, and don't know don't cares. I just never get into the conversation.
