    Well, if the diaper wasn't too wet, you could probably re-use it again to save money!?! Or only serve leftovers?! Sorry I couldn't resist!!

      In my opinion sesame street is ok for kids but news is not. Period.

      Like I said before.... I think the parent over reacted but it is completely her choice to bring you her child or not. I am sure that there are other parents out there that would have no problem with you watching Fox in front of their child.

      Good Luck.

        The best teacher I ever had was a religion teacher in a public school. It was a controversial class, but offered just the same. The first thing he said is that no one in the 10+ years he had been taking the class is that with all the religions he taught about, not one person has been able to tell what his religion is!

          Wow

          Holy crap, that is insane! I'm a liberal who lives in a conservative city and I have some very conservative daycare parents, but none of them have ever talked about pulling their child because of differing political views. I don't talk politics with my clients as a rule, but I have been asked if I voted whenever elections have been held, and some of my dcparents have asked me who I voted for. I answer them, but I don't go any further as far as saying why I voted for who I voted for.

          It's the same with religion. I don't ask parents about their beliefs and I've been lucky enough to have clients who are respectful enough to not ask me about mine. I think that they believe, like myself, that my religious views and my political views don't determine my ability to do my job.

          I'm just stunned at that dcp!

            ::head scratch::

            whatever. That lady obviously has WAY too much time on her hands or WAY too little drama in her life. Some people care overmuch about things that really, in the long run, don't matter.
            Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

              I think the real issue is that her son was there after hours because you were being nice to her. After hours my family goes about their business even if kids are here. I run this business for 12 hours so when its after my close time my family gets their home back. So screw that woman . Sorry that's my mood today. I would send her a message back and remind her of the late fees she owes you and give her a little reminder that she was late and that was your families time then tell her to have a nice life.

                Crazy. I'm sure she considers herself very "tolerent".

                My dh watches Fox news when he gets home too, and it has been on when daycare kids are here. If they had a problem with it they would be welcome to take their kiddo and leave. My dcparents are pretty conservative though, as are we.

                  Dear DCM,

                  Thank you so much for your termination email. It is refreshing to know that there ARE young people from your generation who have strong political convictions and who are willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to let their opinions be known.

                  As much as we love having DCB here we understand completely that it is worth loosing a wonderful day care opportunity in order to live up to and stand by your political views. Political opinions are much more valuable than even the best child care.

                  You are an amazing and wonderful woman and mother. It was a pleasure to work with you even for such a short time.

                  Good luck to you and your family.

                  Nan

                            Ooohhh I always wondered what party I would be classified as! Now I know!

                            Just kidding ::::

                            Sometimes I will watch GMA in the morning as my school agers come in. I have never had a parent say anything about this or I have never given it a thought.

                              Conservative FOX-lover here. O'Reilly would cherish an email from you.

                              add me to the double-dog pile.

                                now, i love nannyde's letter, but i'm a bit more passive agressive.

                                i would lie just to make her feel like an ***.

                                dear mom,

                                wow! its so great to realize we have the same political beliefs. my husband was flipping through the channels, when he had to get up to go to the bathroom, and happened to stop on fox. we were just talking about what a joke that channel is as you were walking through the door.

                                i am just returning this email to let you know i received your termination notice.

                                it was a pleasure working with you, and good luck to you in the future.

                                when she emails back to apologize for judging you, make sure to tell her you already filled the spot.
