the thermostat is set at 68 degrees F in winter months, but I don't have a furnace since we have in-floor radiant heat so the floor is always at 68 degrees F and if I want to cool it off, I have to open a window since it takes like 3 days for the floor to cool down or up. In the summer we don't have the heat on at all.
What temp do you keep your house?

76 in the winter and the same, but sometimes cooler, in the summer. I do open the windows a few times a week though, no matter what the weather.- Flag

and so, do you never go outside? Cuz you're still alive and I *know* it gets warmer than 64 in the midwest summers. :P- Flag

State regs here is 68, BUT since we got our woodstove and it's here in the daycare room, it gets 80 in hereI always have to open the windows, it's waaaay to hot for me. I wish it could be 66-68 ish all the time but to warm the other part of the house it's impossible, so it's always very toasty. Summer we turn the ac on but we keep it to about 73ish.

I would not like that as a parent. Can't imagine small kids spending their day at 60 degrees. Just my opinion.
ETA: Almost forgot to answer the question! 68-69 here in the winter. Only a window a/c unit for the summer, so I really don't know what temp I get it down to. Rest of the year windows come open once it starts to feel stuffy. Usually noon or later. I'm in the Pacific NW.- Flag

We walk pretty early in the morning so as long as it doesn't get too hot we go out. We definitely walk more in the winter than July/August/September- Flag

Nannydes clan has thicker, healthier blood than most
We thin skinned southerners with iron/protein poor diets (at least the ones I am related to) keep it at 68 winter and 78 summer.- Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.- Flag

Im from MN and very cheap so I say dress for the weather. Regs say 68 so thats what I keep it at in the winter. In the summer I rarely turn the AC on. We play in the basement so its very cool down there. Parents dress their kids appropriately. Sweats and sweatshirts in winter and tanks and shorts in summer. And we go out as soon as it is 40 or so in the spring (might be tomorrow) and stay out until it returns to 40 in the fall. Everyday- hot or not we are outside. We have such a short summer I can't imagine staying inside for it. My yard is shaded very well though.- Flag
