It's not clear, but retail is OPEN 6 am to midnight (or whatever) but there are labor laws and she does not work 6 am til midnight.
And as for everything else...it's market-driven coz it's a business. It's called "capitalism."
I understand that it's hard to get cheap, convenient care for those kinds of hours, but unfortunately, our economy is driven by $ not by the needs of moms and families. And that's a big part of why we do what we do...we make a profession for ourselves that takes care of our families. It's hard, but her answer needs to be that SHE make the economy work for her too...just as we have.
