Yes, don't feel bad about it and if you must, do it today. Promise yourself when you wake tomorrow, it will be a feeling you no longer have to carry with you and go on as usual.
I live in a small city where I run into all of my dcp. I have had to term parents and at first felt horrible seeing them, I would get anxiety.
I stopped doing that and just go on with my day as usual. Sometimes I will stop and say hello, mostly if they have their child with them, but I don't let it upset me, change me or make me feel bad.
I agree be proud of yourself...guess what standing up for yourself is going to get even easier......take a bow..... you deserve it.
