Do your parents talk on their cell phones when they bring their kids into your daycare and/or when they pick their children up from your daycare?

Sometimes yes. I don't take it personally because its too much that goes on for me to take personal ::. I personally do not do it unless it was an emergency phone call ( I haven't had one yet).

I mean literally on the phone talking away while they enter your daycare.
I have a mom who is always on the phone every morning and evening when she comes in to drop off and pick her child up.- Flag

Note taken: add a no cell phone policy at drop off and pick up. We have one at the school I taught at and it is sad that it is needed but it is...- Flag

I have one who'll stand right outside the door and finish her conversation, or sometimes finish right after she comes in, but she always gets off before leaving.
CityGarden - How do you enforce your no cell phone policy? Is there a fine?- Flag

NO... why? Because parents read my policies before interview (online website) - I don't allow phone conversations on a phone if it isn't medically/emergency related @ drop-off or pick up. I actually will interrupt a parent conversation if they walk in talking on a cell. They actually respect me because I won't take being ignored

I do always wonder what their CHILD is doing in the backseat as they're sitting there for 5 whole minutes...- Flag

I have one of those as well. They're browsing the internet. Mostly Facebook. I know because all of a sudden there are a million notifications about their activity (we are FB friends). ::

PV, I only have 1 dcm who does that, she's connected practically 24/7 to her work. One day we were in the backyard playing and she had picked up her older son from school, then came here to pick up her dd. She sat in the car talking and sent him to get his sister. I said 'you go tell her SHE needs to pick up your sister'. Many times she'll come in the door talking on her phone but most times she's finishing up her conversation.
I just handed out handbooks and that's one of my new policies.- Flag

My cell phone talker doesn't outright ignore me. She will wave and mouth "hey!" then scoot her child towards the door to sign out. She'll then wave and mouth "bye!" Beautiful. It takes a total of 60 seconds. My other parents tend to linger and I have so many of them that this absolutely exhausts me.- Flag

I have two that do this regularly (it's work related, not personal calls)
