I offer to supply all diapers, pull-ups, wipes, everything. But, if a parent wants to lower their rate just a little, they can supply those things. I then require that they bring a brand new entire pack of whatever they are supplying. As I get low, I let them know (typically on Fridays) to bring me a new pack the next day.

If they want to supply baby formula they have to give me a new, unopened can. I now have a baby who drinks liquid formula, so I had the parents bring me a week's worth plus 2 extra days' so I always have extra if they forget to bring some the next Monday. I also require the same, a week's worth plus 2 extra days' worth if they supply baby food.

I used to have parents bring a daily diaper bag. But one lady's bag had SCORES of ants in it that got all over my counter! When I told her about it, she acted like it was no big deal and was normal for her! Plus you have to worry about dangerous things they have in their bags, if they leave money or credit cards that they later lose and accuse you about taking them out of the bag. Plus you only have a small supply of the items and you might need more than the parent expected.

I keep about 10 diapers/pull-ups at a time and send a note when there's only a few left. I don't have many diapered children (only 1 each day), though, and they usually only wet 2-4 per day and use the toilet other times.

I have them bring a pack of diapers and I let them know when we are running low, I supply the wipes. I have one parent who brings a diaper bag and every day its sent home the same way it came in - completely untouched. I think I am going to add the "no diaper bag" rule to my handbook!

In general, our parents bring in appx a month supply of diapers and each parent brings in a box of wipes. Being home daycare in NY we are supposed to have bookbagsfor jackets and cubby sharing. Each child in diapers has their own diaper cubbie with changing cream and extra clothes.

We have a parent who does the diaper bag against our requests (we think its money) and she must bring, at minimum 10 diapers daily

I'm flexible and don't mind letting the parents decide what they want to do about supplying diapers and wipes as long as I have enough to get through each day. Most parents like to bring a large supply of diapers and wipes and replenish the supply when it's getting low. Some start out bringing a diaper bag back and forth each day but lugging the bag back and forth usually gets old fast and they start giving me a larger supply to keep here.

After reading through the replies, though, (not to mention the other thread about bed bugs!) I'm starting to rethink allowing diaper bags. Roaches and ants??

I would require them supplied in advance and notify them when running low.

I'm thinking about doing it that way as well. In your case, do most of the parents bring their own or let you provide them?

That reminded me of one of my grandparents houses when I was a kid. If I ever have that happen, I would put it right outside for the parent to get when they return.

When my son was in diapers, they'd have us provide a large pack of diapers (I'd say about 2 weeks worth) and wipes, and would then let us know when he was running low. My son was formula fed, so I'd and I bring in a big can of unopened formula and they'd let me know when that was running low, and 2 changes of clothes, all to be kept there. When he started on baby fiis, they'd request a week's worth of food to be brought in on Mondays, all these were kept in each child cubby. Friday's the sheet and blanket for nap time were sent home to be washed, and then would need to be brought back on Mondays. This worked out well for me as a dcm, then I only needed to bring my son each day, rather than lugging a bag of supplies back and forth.
