    I'm Going to Tell My Mommy

    It's nap time. Child usually naps but has days she rolls around on the cot talking to herself. I keep reminding her today as she is rolling around on the cot playing that she needs to lay still and rest and she replies and says " if you don't stop telling me that I'm going to tell my Mommy to take me to another daycare". I am closing daycare soon, I am burnt out and my nerves are fried. Deep breathes.

                I have the same kid!
                She: I'm going to bring cookies for all the kids!
                Me: Well we don't do a lot of sweets here.
                She: Hmmmm..... I'm going to ask my mommy if I can go to a new daycare!
                Me: That is a great idea!
                She, looking sad: I was only kidding!
                Me: I know!

                  :hug::hug::hug: for you today .

                  As for what she said to you, she is just testing boundries. Just keep doing what you have been doing .

                    Yup, she's experimenting to see what kind of reaction she can get from you. I always say "OK, then we'll also tell Mommy how you..." That usually nips it in the bud.

                      I had one dcg who would always threaten to tell mommy ( mom was a friend of mine ) about everything that didn't go her way . One day I said " o.k. , let's call her " I grabbed my phone and the poor dcg started crying saying " no , please don't call her "

                      Well I felt bad after that .I did talk to dcm at pick up and she laughed saying I bet she will never threaten to tell on you again .

                          I had this same child She was gonna tell mom every last thing I did to her (like make her follow rules, eat lunch, lay down for nap, ect.). I mostly ignored it, but sometimes I would agree with her and sya we REALLY should tell mom about it. Of course, I also told her that I would tell mom about the behavior that led to the discipline too, because that is important info for the story we are gonna relay to mom, so... She never cared for me telling the truth when her story was so much better!

                            Once I had a little one with poor behavior who would threaten the same. I grabbed my phone and had a brief conversation with no one about so-and-so's choices in a very kind and lighthearted tone. The entire situation resolved itself right then and there.

                              LOL. I send texts to myself using Siri and have the kid press the send button.
