    QRIS STRIKES AGAIN...vent

So because of the drought, I was all of my dishes by hand. I use a special organic soap with rinse solution. I have a large well type sink. We have on bucket for wash and one for rinse, we dump the water in our garden when done.

We also dry all of the dishes too.

I was told that I can not dry the dishes any more with a towel due to cross contamination.

OMG REALLY PEOPLE. like I am going to wipe the floor with a towel and then dry the dishes.

UGH.....so now they have to sit and air dry which may not be available for the next meal.

    WHY WHY WHY

Use paper! I know, wasteful, but I have resorted to it for the most part due to the drought.

But, but, that fills up the landfills! (Being sarcastic here.) I use mostly paper plates.

Then you won't want to hear about the two paper towel, per kid, per hand wash, issue. One for hands, one to turn off water... AFTER they dry their hands and toss the first one. happyface

Right there with you, Cat Herder...The deeper you get into QRIS, the deeper it gets and the more annoying it gets..... QRIS eventually becomes a GAME and you decide if you wanna play or not or just play at certain times

I am in Canada so don't really know anything about these programs but the rules seem over the top crazy. Obviously designed for a purpose but what purpose?

                    Goodness.

                      Exactly!!!

"If you are not cheating, you are not trying" was actually said a lot in school.

                      It is too much.

Then a 2 minute bleach/then rinse of the sink after toileting hand washes. Between each kid. But wait!! No kid can wait more than 3 minutes for your undivided attention....

I think it is to keep us all feeling inferior.... so our pay makes more sense. :::::: Eh, it keeps me on my feet for sure. ::

The system is set up for providers to "fail" and it should be a system that encourages providers to "exceed"....In my state, when we get good at the "game", they change the rules....a continuous effort to keep "control" of providers.....

                          Asinine QRIS rules as usual....

I think what you providers need to do is get together and try to fight some of these ridiculous rules together. They kept trying to get QRIS (for years) to be adopted in Florida but as of last year when I retired they didn't. I think it was in large part because providers in most counties have provider associations and we have a state one. Providers get together and talk, vent, have trainings together and have fought many regulations together. Several providers were cooperative (not me ) with QRIS because these people wanted to come to our houses and test it out. I think all of the providers finally dropped out because the expectations were N.U.T.S. One of the providers said someone actually took a ruler and measured how long her grass was under a slide.

So sorry you have to put up with this. I'm for you.

Laurel, It is at the federal level.

We don't have the funds to fight that.

We have to dance and be pretty PR monkeys... Dance. Dance. Be happy... Our state educational system needs the money for the upper grades. I dance for them.

It is like the rest... wait 5 years. It will swing back across the pendulum.

The classes are AWESOME, though. The professors know how asinine it is and work WITH you to help.

I have been asked to become a trainer as well. I just don't have the time... plus they can't afford me. ::::::

Actually in many states now it is illegal to wipe dishes dry. They say it is safer to let them air dry. Here in Ohio they regulate that highly in commercial kitchens, it is even covered in food handlers licensing. Even using paper towels here I think would be against the rules.
