So I had a DCG for three weeks. I have posted about her here. Mom has been tough to get on board with the whole daycare thing, because she is young blah blah. Anyway after three weeks I finally have DCG almost sleep trained. She was just screaming all nap time, now she sleeps for an hour.
DCM just came by and said "Well I wanted to let you know DCG will not be with you tomorrow, I found someone who will provide care for $30 a week.". Mom's work schedule varies, but DCG doesn't come until 1 PM here, dad lives a block away and was dropping off on way to his second shift job. Mom doesn't work later than 7 PM, but was picking up some days at 5 some days at 6:30. Mom will now be dropping off in the morning when she goes to work, so longer hours. Since I am still trying to get going, I was only charging her $70 a week. Low for the area, the going rate is $20 day. So I lost my ONLY full time kiddo. I am down to my two before and after school kiddos, who will be full time this summer.
Who does care that cheap? Especially for a 13 month old? And what parent doesn't question that price?? I told DCM that I would have to send the apartment complex that she had me fill out paperwork for a copy of the temination notice, because it is subsidized housing and it will lower her rent. She told me she would have the new "provider" (really a SAHM, working for super cheap) fill one out. But I am sending it anyway, because I signed a paper.
I am frustrated, I need families, good, long term, serious families. Maybe I shouldn't have stood up for and enforced my policies with this mom, but really I need to.
I guess I am venting, I dunno.
