I've just been frustrated this week with parents.
One of my dck has been out sick all week. The parent waits until 5 minutes after the child is suppose to arrive to call and tell me that child will not be coming that day. The other days, the parent didn't even contact me, I had to text them and ask if child was coming that day. It's just really frustrating because I have to wake up 2 hours earlier especially for that child and sit around and wait for child's arrival, wondering if they will ever show up. I am sure that the parent would not like it if someone treated them in such an inconsiderate way.
Then this morning, I had a parent bring their kid 25 minutes early. I was not prepared for children to arrive yet. I said "I wasn't expecting you so soon, so I am not completely ready yet." The parent says "well I had to get to work early and the other parent is already at work." Well that's great and all, but you need to let me know that you will be bringing the child early. Mind you, these are the parents that show up 10 minutes late every day so I was not expecting them to come early.
It is just so frustrating! I feel like these people take advantage of me and are being incredibly inconsiderate. I am a person with a job just like them. They would not like it if their boss made them come in early without notice or made them stay late every day. Sometimes I wish I could get out of the childcare business so I don't have to deal with this sort of thing.
I just needed to vent. How do you all handle these problems with your parents?
