I really wanted to give this provider the benefit of the doubt when I first heard the story. But she has told so many lies and so many things just don't even make sense with her story. I have to believe she knew the baby had already died when she put him in his car seat and was hoping that parents and authorities would think it happened at home.
So sad...

I know it's not in every states regulations, but it's a proven fact. We may not know what CAUSES sids, but we know what steps to take to prevent it the best we can. And as for this story....
Please, for the love of Jesus, please give babies a safe sleep environment. If you don't know what one looks like, get ahold of me. I will educate you. OR I will find someone to educate you. Please. Never. Ever. Ever. Ever infinity- sleep a baby anywhere but a crib. A safe crib with NO BUMPER PAD. A safe crib with NO BLANKETS, STUFFED ITEMS, HOODS, BIBS. A safe crib with no items except a tight fitting sheet, a baby and if you choose, a paci. There are NO SIDS PREVENTATIVE ITEMS that are approved by true professionals. Don't let babies sleep in swings, bouncers, car seats, hammocks, ANYWHERE but a safe crib. It's called positional asphyxia and it KILLS. Please. No baby should die because it suffocated in a swing. Or a carseat. Or a bouncer. It's preventable. It isn't SIDS.
I'm not the only poster in this group with a personal interest in SIDS research and prevention.
Please, every nap. Every day. Give them the gift of safe sleep.- Flag

Well said! And I shudder to think of when my kids were babies and they had all those cute stuffed animals in bed with them or the bumper pads, or sat them in car seats and left them because they fell asleep.I was beyond lucky that nothing ever happened to them. But there were many who weren't so lucky.
We didn't know any better, all this current safe sleep knowledge wasn't out there for us.
I attended a network meeting where some of the leaders of the group were complaining about something and I overheard one saying 'well, we always let them sleep in car seats, and swings and nothing ever happened!' But she wasn't listening to anybody else's input and what is considered dangerous now.
Most people think it'll never happen to them. Sadly, it can. And does.- Flag

My rant on my fb feed after I was called out for posting such a sad story:
And for those who think it only happens to "other people" or "poor people" or "white people" or "black people" or "young people" or "old people"
YOU'RE WRONG.
It happens to every age, race, income, education, sex, culture, belief. It is not discriminatory. It just is.
For anyone who believes like the person who used to be my fb friend who called me out because it's a sad subject- feel
Free to delete me. My feed. My choice.- Flag

It is so sad that some people feel that well of an infant falls asleep in their car seat while in the car it's no big deal so it shouldn't be a big deal out of the car. I then noticed how an infant carrier sits at a different angle when out of the car. I would never leave an infant in their carrier anyway. I don't even allow them in the daycare now. This is so tragic and disturbing.- Flag

This provider didn't even have any pack-n-plays! Supposedly threw them away last week. Said she held the babies whenever they slept and this was the FIRST TIME she put one in the carseat to sleep. She had three infants under 4 months and 7 other older children so no idea how that supposedly worked for her.(only allowed 6 total in MI and 2 under 18 months)

I also stalked her daycare facebook page before someone took that down. She "looked" like she did things right-had a curriculum, Zoo-phonics, cute dc room...but when I read her posts I couldn't believe people kept their kids there! Most of them were to the tune of "Kids were terrible again today. Early lunch and nap. Only those who are good during nap get the special snack." Many, many of these type of posts complaining about the kids' behavior.- Flag

No, the link to the licensing investigation was in the news story last night, they got it through FOIA-but they removed it. It's no longer available to the public I guess because the case is still pending? I wasn't sure if it would be legal for me to put that up here since they took it back down. I downloaded it) I forgot what info was in which-suffice it to say her story is full of bs.
