Totally agree! The radio doesn't even drown it out some days! I must admit, my 2 dcgs have gotten MUCH better, but it seems like every kid I've had does this except my own 2. I don't get it!

The other one isn't a sound, but it's when kids, or an adult, exhales and their breath reaches my face. Oh I can't stand that! I can't even sleep facing DH.

kitkat... I am the same. Don't invade my personal space by being a close talker, or breather or whatever. I need at least 3-4 feet between me and whoever is talking to me.

I didn't even think about it before, but YES I hate hearing people chew. I had a family member stay with me when my son was due (i had a bad pregnancy) and was expecting emerg. c-section anyway, so she came down. She would yell at my kids for chewing with their mouth open, BUT IT WAS HER! she didn't even know it.

And my daughter who is 6, keeps doing the baby talk lately. I would never do it, but I threatended if she kept it up, she's not going to get the warnings or the looks of disapproval, but she'll start getting a smack until she remembers. Let me just say it again I WOULD NEVER SMACK HER FOR IT but needless to say, she hasn't done baby talk in over 2 weeks, except one slip up she didn't think I'd hear. And she even reminded her brother not to do baby talk when they did it.

I have to add that it drives me NUTS when a parent talks to a kid in baby talk excessively

This one isn't a sound, but it drives me nuts anyway:

when one of them stands at my knee staring at me and not saying anything. I ask him repeatedly what he wants and he just stares at me with a grumpy look on his face. Finally I get tired of it and tell him that if he doesn't want anything, to go play. And he does. (and starts chattering the moment he's out in the playroom...)
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

The sound of my colicky boys cry. It is all day every day. God, he is 8 months old, I already endured my own ds's year long bout with colic, why on earth would I get stuck with a dcb that has extended colic as well?! Good God!

i'm the same. if i ever kill my husband, it'll be because i was on the brink of snapping and he started smacking his mouth.

i just told him yesterday his mother needs to be smacked for allowing him to do it as a child. it makes me wanna pull my ears off.
