Is There A Sound That Gets On Your Last Nerve???

For me, it's the sound of the Little Tykes chairs flipping over & over & over...thump, thump, thump,thump,thump...
And by noon-ish, the sound of my name can drive me bonkers...Luna?"yes?" Luna? Luna?..."yes?"...ummmmm, Luna?

The sound of one of the kids chewing on the foam play mats! All the live long day the dcg chews on it even though Ive offered so many teething toys and rags. ChewchewsqueakchewchewsqueakCHEWCHEWCHEW. AUGH!

Whining. Any kind of whining. Drives me CRAZY!!!! There is a big emphasis here of using your words in a nice way to tell me what you need/want.

squeals, fake cries, kicking the floor, agree with Luna my own name (but it's actually Mommy) as daycare kids are too young to talk still.

Not sure if any of you are Family Guy watchers, or even if you've seen the commercials where Stewie goes "mom mom mommmy mommy mom mom mom mommmy mommmy" and then Lois says "what" and he giggles and runs away! That's my kids, but instead of giggling and running away, they stand there with a blank stare on their face and go "uhhhhhhhhhh"

Parents saying..."Oh, I forgot my checkbook" or "Can I just pay you next week?" or "Can you hold this check until next week?"

No, for me it is the whining too .....I can not stand to listen to a kid whine...the older they are the worse it is......

When the kids decide its fun to play with the sliding door curtain. We have the plastic shingle type curtain and it is so annoying.

high pitched screaming from anyone, for any reason.
Kids standing at the gate to the kitchen either nagging me for food/drink (while I'm getting it) or SCREAMING at the top of their lungs because the gate's up
My daughter fake sneezing. Stupid Clifford episode...

edited: Oh! And the sound of the rocking chair rocking hard enough to hit the wall. It's a never-ending refrain in my house--"If you're hitting the wall, you're doing it too hard!"
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

That reminds me of another sound that gets to me...
that little girl that cries non-stop through the Monster's Inc movie...whenever the kids watch that movie I go nuts trying to figure out where the crying is coming from....until I realize it is that movie! For some reason it drives me crazy!

I am with the others on whining/baby talk/high-pitched screaming from kids who are old enough to express themselves with words. After ignoring it for the first 60 seconds (that's all I can stand) I tell them that I don't understand them when they whine so when they are ready to use their big boy/girl voice I will be ready to listen. A while back someone on this board used the phrase" I don't speak Whinese." That was one of my favorites and now I say that sometimes too

I also can't stand to hear the sound of the baby gate when the kids shake it and it bangs against the wall. Note: This particular gate is not in place for safety, just for the purposes of dividing an area.
