My son (15 yrs old) slipped on the stairs while carrying mine one time and destroyed the screen. I did have it replaced for about $150. Cheaper than a new one and you can still recover all your stuff. That totally stinks though, I'm so sorry. Are you going to bring it up to the parents?
No not at all. Even a rreplacement wouldn't make it better, why bother.

I'm fairly good with computers. Ill be taking out the the hd and see what I can recover.
