You can out a piece of duct tape over the led light

I'm not saying it's not safe I'm just thinking that as an adult we get freaked out by scary movies etc. imagine it in your home and then trying to function after a night of hearing noises and whispers and going to school where you need to be functioning at your best. Good Luck I hope you figure it out.
My daughter is 15 and likewise fearful at night. I guess it happens a lot more these days with the internet sending us so many stories.

The red LEDs are infrared which allows the camera to see in the dark. It doesn't matter if someone sees it. By that time their video or picture will have been captured. I use mine by the front door and it usually just captures the FedEx or UPS guy dropping off stuff. Good to know, for peace of mind who is at the front door, since you can see in the house from it.

I scrounged around the house and found $7.00 in cash, a bunch of change, and I had a little bit left on my credit card. So I took it all to Walmart and bought the $15 baby monitor and 4 cheap door/window alarms. I did put duct tape on the green light on the baby monitor. Thanks for the idea.

Now my daughter is even more scared. She said that every scary movie that uses a baby monitor has a really scary ghost! She refused to help me put the door alarms up and kept telling me that we are going to make the ghost mad and "we should just live and let live, or let float around, or whatever they do!" Oh good grief!

I have motion sensors outside my daycare. Best investment I ever made. You may want to look into them one day when money is better..

The light out back is supposed to be a motion sensor. But it's broken. If I am ever able to buy a house I plan to get a good security system and motion sensor lights. I used to have all that when I was married. I am working on fixing my credit so hopefully one day I will be able to buy a house.

I'm confused? She said a few comments back that you were purchasing the camera and it would be passed around as needed?

I have those too, these are alarms. The kids try to guess which mommy is here when the front alarm goes off, .

                      Wednesday,

I was kidding when I posted that Michael was buying a camera and we would pass it around. I even put a funny face to try to show that I was kidding. I didn't mean to confuse anyone. Sorry. I don't want Michael to buy anything and loan it to me. I will get the money together one day and get a camera soon enough.

I was a bit nervous last night listening to the baby monitor and waiting to hear something. I started to think my daughter might be right, no one has hurt us so far, maybe we should just live and let live! But I know I can't do that, I have to get to the bottom of this and find out who or what is causing these noises and doing things in my home.

However, I didn't hear anything over the baby monitor last night and none of the door alarms went off.

I'll let you all know if anything happens.

Well, my dog and I are sitting in my car outside of the Royal Farms store at 2 in the morning! My daughter and her friend who was spending the night came running in my bedroom a little after 1am. They were scared to death and said they heard a deep demonic growl 3 times back to back in the baby monitor. Of course I didn't hear anything I was sound asleep until the girls screamed. I tried to take my dog with me to the basement but he refused to go down the basement steps. I shoved him as hard as I could, but he was not going to go down the basement. So I called the police and the policeman walked through the basement with me and we couldn't find anything or anyone. The doors and windows were all locked. While I was on the phone with the 911 operator, I watched out my back door and watched the basement stairwell and window. Noone came out the back of the basement. At the same time, I had the girls take my dog out the front door and sit in the car. So I know noone left out the front door or front basement window either. The policeman kept saying it might be a ghost since it's been going on so long and each time the house is locked up and there's never any signs of forced entry. He also said that if he gets a chance, he will research my address for previous police reports. I really need to move!!!

Oh wow! I know you said drug dealers lived there before you but what about before them? Do you have any info on the history of the place?
That is way too spooky. I'm sorry you're having to deal with such a terrifying and unexplainable situation.

While the policeman was here, he noticed that a gas pipe in the basement was not capped. At first I didn't think anything of it because I'm sure the gas is turned off to that pipe. We don't typically smell gas. I do every once in a while when I first walk into the house, but that's on a very slim basis. When I do smell gas as I enter the house, I check everywhere and can never smell gas except for at the entrance. So I just figure it's from coming in from outside and smell the pilot from the stove.

Anyway, back to last night. So, the policeman noticed that the gas pipe isn't capped off. After thinking about it, I thought maybe there's a slow gas leak. Gas leaks can make you hallucinate. So I thought maybe we are hallucinating the things we hear and see. (However, I don't think we would all hallucinate the exact same sound or sight at the same time. There have been many times when everyone in the house is wide awake and hears or sees the same thing at the same time. So hallucinations don't make sense either) So I had the fire department come over and check for a gas leak. Nope, no gas leak. So, after being up since just after 1am, having the police and fire department here, I still have no clue what or who is in the house.

Everyone says it's a ghost. The policeman went on and on about it being a ghost. The lady fire fighter said she lives in a haunted fire house. She showed me a picture they put on the fire truck of a ghost on the fire department symbol (it looks like the ghost busters symbol).
