When my sister bought her house they found a secret room that was built into the house. Apparently the previous owners were some big time drug dealers and used the room for hiding out or hiding their goods. Looking at the wall u would never see it or know it was there. I don't know how the realtor knew of it but thankful she did. I always wondered what if no one ever told my sister it was there n she came across it by accident later. There was a tricky way on a shelf to open the door so she may have never known!
Someone I Don't Know Is Living In My Home!

Look for any shelves or closets or cabinets that can be moved in any way. The back of a closet would b my first guess. In my sisters house not only was there a secret room....they also had a secret shoot from the back of a closet to drop goods or for a quick escape if need be I guess. That was also very hidden.- Flag

I am completely freaked out!! Did you try opening the windows and doors that you say are locked!? It is poss that they look like they are locked but may be rigged somehow to later be opened. I don't think I could stay there. I am freaked out just by a raccoon that we recently had living in our atticor could the person be hiding in a storage closet/area behind boxes etc and reappearing when you are away or sleeping?

I can't add to the advice already given but I have to say..... I would have moved out 1 year and 11 months ago! I can't imagine dealing with this for as long as you have. We swear we have a ghost living in our house with us because of some of the strange things we've experienced. It creeps me out but for some reason, it doesn't creep me out nearly as much as the thought of having an actual intruder entering my home does!
What are the police saying about it? I imagine they can't do too much unless they actually catch someone breaking in but could they send someone to check out the nooks and crannies, shelves and closets for you?- Flag

If you really are worried about it, I would suggest calling the police (non emergency number), tell them that you believe someone is in your house and ask them to search your property, because it is trespassing. Tip: I would make the call on a cell phone outside of the house (and not mention it at all when you are in the house), so that who ever it is can't hear you and try to leave/hide before the police have a chance to check it out (maybe pretend like you are going to the store or will be out for a while, and drive down the street).
Your story isn't that weird. I heard a similar story to that a few years ago.
