This is the type of thing I don't understand. If she truly only has $50 leftover a week for child are after all of her NECESSARY bills are paid then surely she qualifies for assistance.

First of all, how is a 9 month old a newborn? Second of all, someone IS going to take her up for that offer, sadly.

Oh I'm sure... But I'd really hate to see the outcome of that one...

Babysitting for 4 kids ,$80 a week with meals included. .

Someone was nice enough to send me this link to show me what some of you are saying. Yes,I offer cheap childcare cause I've watched too many single parents struggle and have to work 2 jobs just to pay for daycare or childcare costs. All of your opinions and bashing don't bother me at all cause I know who I am. My uncle is a police officer and I have amazing references including military, police, lawyers ,etc. I don't need to do this for extra money, I choose to help people out because I know what it's like to look for affordable and safe childcare.

And just to set the record straight, those that think people who are cheap on their costs are bad people best think again. Watch the news and see how many daycares and foster parents abuse or harm kids. I mean be real,ANYONE who watches your child should be checked out unless you don't care. I've never been in trouble, don't drink or nothing.

And another thing, to the person who thinks they are funny saying I probably feed them ramen noodles. .... I don't feed any of them ramen noodles, but sometimes a parent sends them with a child to eat.
I don't feed them hot dogs, bologna or any of that. I don't really benefit from this except the smile on my face knowing I helped someone out.
None of you have any right to judge me for me trying to help people who need it. Only person that can judge me is God. Y'all all have a nice day.

But in another weird way, I think the daughter might be unhappy that mom is "buying" her a friend and would find it terribly awkward. Hell, Idk what to think of this. Lol.
In a way, the 'babysitting' job I have now is more about being the kids friend than his sitter/caregiver. The mom is always home, so she mostly just needs someone to keep him entertained (and sometimes it seems like "just dealing with him") while she either cleans the house or takes care of his baby sister-there are times when it seems like she favors the baby more than him (she always brings up the baby when he is clearly not interested in talking about her). Sometimes it even feels like I'm being paid to be the mom's friend because she takes me with her them errands- grocery shopping, to the outlets, and even doctors appointments with the kids and she want's to stop me from moving out of state.

This is a serious question. At $80 per week, for 4 children, and 50 hours of available care per week, you are receiving a mere forty cents per hour, per child. If you are a legal in-home provider, you can accept 6 children. That is.$120 per week of income. Am I correct abot the math? Just curious. I am in Florida. For $120 per week, I would watch one(1) child for 3 days, for 30 hours total. My math is.$4 per hour, per child.

Please do tell us how you provide meals, materials and a quality, supplied and age appropriate environment for so little money. We are genuinely interested, (well, I am). I do hope you are also receiving state subsidy and your quoted rates are the parents fees AFTER subsidy grants. If not, you should look into becoming a subsidized provider, assuming you are licensed and meet minimum licensing standards.

If you are operating illegally (too many children, for example) you need to stop, immediately. Illegal is not the same as unlicensed. See link for details.

Agreed. If you are operating illegally, you really don't get to have your feelings hurt. I, too, would be very interested to know how you provide a safe, secure, QUALITY environment for that many children on $80 per week. You can't even feed that many for $80! What about developmentally appropriate toys? Educational activities? Arts/crafts? Those materials usually cost more than food. Child proofing? A fenced in playground area with a variety of age appropriate toys/slides/wagons/water tables? How do you provide all of this for 4 for $80?

Why is that, Silver? I think it has not been a disrespectful conversation yet, and shouldn't we give unregistered a chance to respond?

Absolutely no reason to lock THIS thread. If this thread is getting out of hand, then I've missed something.

Here's another $10 daily for unlimited hours. So I can leave my kids there for 24 hours for $10? That's 41 cents per hour. I think that's a record.
