    Do You Need a Laugh?

Ask your DCKs how many teeth they have. Next ask them how many teeth mommy has. Their answers crack me up! lovethis

Can't wait to try that on my dcks today! I love asking them questions to see what they'll say. We really should write these kinds of things down; we could write a book I'm sure.
Do you ever create questionnaires such as for Mother's Day or Father's Day? Their answers are hilarious!

I so need to do that. I love it when they tell me what happened at home. If their parents knew how much they share with us, .

omgosh I know. I knew about mom's new boyfriend (recently divorced) loooooong before mom mentioned it to me. It's kind of funny. I did refrain from saying, "oh THIS is the famous [boyfriend]!! It's nice to finally meet you after I've heard SO much about you from {dcb}!!!"
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I had one DCB4 tell me about mom's new ankle bracelet for drinking more than her friends. (monitoring device) When she came to pick him up, he pointed to her leg when she wasn't looking. Cracked me up & I couldn't say a word.

Apparently my 3 yr old & I both have ten. I caught him in the middle of something so I don't think he wanted to bother counting higher. ::

I asked my 3.5 yr old DCG

Me: "K, how many teeth do you have?"
K: "Hmmm, I don't know...I'll go look." (goes to mirror and proceeds to count)
Me: "Well, how many do you have?"
K: "I'm not sure. I think I might have 13 but the ones in front keep getting in the way."
Me: "How many does your mom have?"
K: "I dunno...probably enough to eat with because she eats crunchy stuff for breakfast"
Me: "How many does your little brother (age 1.5) have?"
K: "Enough to bite me because he does that all the time at home"

While I am giggling at her reply another one of my DCK's (age 4.5 yrs) pipes up and says "My grandma has 4 teeth in her mouth and a bunch in a glass by the bathroom sink"

Have you ever done the questionnaire type things with your DCK's?

Ask them to answer questions such as

My mom is really good at ___________________

My dad is taller than a ____________________

My dad spends his time ____________when not working

My mom's favorite food to cook is ________________

My dad gets mad when _______________________

My mom's favorite thing to wear is __________________

If your mom could have 3 wishes, what would they be?

What does you dad really want for his birthday?

What is your mom's favorite bed time story?

Be warned though...some of the things they say will seriously crack you up!!

I usually do this type of Q & A session when we are waiting for something or during a transition time to help pass the time. I try to ask "real life" questions about their parent's work or hobbies etc...

Hearing the kids' perspective about every day life is a fantastic look inside their little brains. Hilarious too! ::

I ask what Mom or Dad does all day at work, their fav thing to do with their child, fav book, movie, their age, their fav thing to cook, how tall they are, just lots of random questions.
One thing though, if you can get each child to answer questions out of earshot of the others, it works better. Otherwise, you'll get all the same answers from child #2 onward.

Oh one year we even did a little recipe book for Thanksgiving. I asked each dcp to contribute their favorite holiday recipe and I asked each child what their favorite holiday food was, plus how to make it. OMG talk about cute!!

Love to see how all your kids answered the teeth question. I forgot all about it this a.m.!!
