Do any of you ever have a friend over for coffee occasionally during daycare hours? I'm not sure about it, since my attention should be focused on the kids. But the thought of another adult around for a half hour is very appealing
Before we moved I used to have a friend and her two girls over once a week. I had four doc kids at the time. I told parents and they were all fine with it. My aunt who did daycare for 30 years had coffee with the "girls" every day. She was an amazing provider. If I trusted my in home provider, I would trust that she could keep an eye on my child while drinking coffee with a friend. As a former provider, a half an hour of adult interaction could do a lot to improve the providers day.

No, but I went to my provider friend's house with my dc children. Also have had relatives visit from time to time. They don't tend to stay long though. Wonder why? ::
My sister used to stop by every once in awhile to chit chat. Sometimes she ended up staying most of the day and kind of just blended into our group. She used to have a licensed home daycare so she's current on all of the required stuff. It was nice. She moved out of state and I'm definitely missing the company!
Also if my husband is sick, he'd just rather go to work where it is quieter.::
Maybe that's why my husband has never missed a day of work in years??? Lol.
Of course, he works either 14 days away and 14 home or 14/7 so when he's gone he's gone and when he's home he can't seem to find enough outside stuff to do

I'm in MA as well and my licensor led me to believe that anyone who steps foot on your property during business hours has to be cori and background checked.

So if you have to have repair work done then you have to close? Like someone to look at washing machine etc?
It do understand why that regulation is in place. But, that would stink!
Funny you asked. I was casually talking to a parent at pick up & another parent dropped off her screaming DCG1. She said "I would love to keep you company, but I can't handle that kid crying all the time. I have no idea how you do it." She does cry all the time. BLAH!!
