I don't think this would fly around here but it's nearly impossible to get your CCL here unless you're military, police, etc. In other counties you can, but you can't carry them in a county that doesn't allow it. But add a daycare to this? HECK NO! It I found out my DCP had a gun on them during a field trip or outting I would pull them in a heartbeat. Locked, ammo separate and never around kids is the only thing I'm ok with.

There is no way I would be allowed to carry an of those items with dck's present. I was at an event one time where someone "accidentally" sprayed pepper spray and everyone within a few feet got hit. My friend said it was the worst pain she's ever felt in her life...Too dangerous with daycare, IMO.
Having a firearm at your home appropriately locked up is one thing. If your area is so unsafe that you feel the need to have weapons with you/ on your person at all times, perhaps having a home day care isn't the best idea.- Flag

^^ I have to agree... Never in my life have I wished I would have packed heat or had pepper spray or a tazer with me. Especially with DC kids! Maybe it's best to just stay at your house during DC if it's that scary to leave your house?- Flag

It depends on your licensing regulations.
I'm in CA and without having to ask my licensor I know this would be a "no" answer. We have firearms and as per licensing regulations they are locked and stored unloaded and the ammo is locked separately. This is okay with licensing but I cannot have a gun around the children. If I had a permit to carry a concealed weapon I would still not be able to carry it around the children, nor would I want to. So even though the state would allow me to carry a concealed weapon, licensing would not and I would be bound to follow my DC licencing regulations.
But again as many people here have already mentioned, your best shot at a clear answer would be to call your local child care licensing office and ask them specifically so that you can give them the details of why you need a permit to carry a concealed weapon and why you feel the need to carry it on you with children around you.- Flag
