    Whitish, Liquid Stools...(Warning Gross)

My daughter has been having pale yellow, liquid, explosive diarrhea for the past 24 hours now. She has pooped at least 12 different times.

I called the physician on call, and he said its not too alarming, but it she spikes a fever, stops eating, etc take her to the ER. Other than that if she's still doing it by Monday, make an emergency appointment with her pediatrician.

She's still happy go lucky self, but she's hungry because everything is going right through her and she's sick of pooping

Do any of you have any experience with this?

That's the kind of bug I get. I hardly ever get a fever or vomiting. You should try the brat diet, bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Make sure drinks plenty too. Good luck, hope she gets better soon.

Sorry, forgot to mention she's four months old.

No experience with this, but hope she is doing better. When my daughter has any stomach issue, we do the BRAT diet (banana, rice, apple, toast). I'm a worrier, so I would probably take her in ASAP if she is not improving.

She is 4 months? I'd just keep an eye on it, and you can still do the rice cereal or applesauce and bananas. I think I also did toast at that age too. Of course, IDK if anything has changed since I have had infants so be sure to verify with the dr that this is OK. If she's not on solids yet, just continue to keep her well hydrated.

I wouldn't worry too much as long as there is no high fever

            AND

As long as she's still urinating several times a day.

As log as she's peeing it will run its course.

That's what's worrying me. Her stool is now nearly completely water, so it'd hard to tell now, but earlier I think I changed one pee diaper all day. And it was barely wet and she's a big pee-er.

She's not acting dehydrated, but she really isn't peeing much.

I told the doctor that, and he didn't say.much about it.

I hear her poor little tummy gurgling right now. I fed her at 7:40 and it came right back out by 7:55.

How long has it been going on?? I'd probably give her to tomorrow and if it hasn't slowed down, I'd call them back. She's at more risk for dehydration especially when it's hard to tell if she's urinating or not.

At least 24 hours but possibly longer. Dad keeps her in the daytime.

Now they call it the BRATY diet, adding yogurt. Not sure if you can give infants yogurt though.

                    Hope she's better by tomorrow.

Awe poor thing. Hopefully her little bum doesn't get sore on top of everything else. As long as she's not acting dehydrated she should be fine though.
                      She's still eating good?

Yeah she's still taking bottles like a champ. But they go right out

If you're concerned I would call again or just take her in. Especially if you can't tell if she is dehydrated. One thing you can check is the finger nails. If you press it and the pink doesn't come back immediately, you know she's probably dehydrated. If it bounces right back she's probably ok. But you know best and if its worrying you, take her in in the morning. Even if it's just to calm your worries. Good luck!

Yes she had the rotavirus vax two months ago.

And she goes to my job once a week, so maybe...??

My grandmother has C-Diff, but she hasn't seen her at least a month....shes been the hospital. And the last time Ava was at her house was over two weeks ago...

                              So I don't know...?
