Infant Prices? What Is The Highest?

Just curious....what is the HIGHEST price you have seen for infant care, under one year old?
I am.considering switching to infant and toddler care because free vpk is making retaining 3 to 5 year olds difficult.

I have heard places around here get up to $260 a week!

What is the highest you have seen?

When I worked at Wells Fargo 6 years ago I looked into the center right by work and they wanted to charge $300 a week for her!!!! It was outrageous!

1 to 4 for under one
1 to 6 for one to two years
        1 to 9 for 2 year olds

I was thinking I would do 4 infants, 4 one year olds, and 6 two year olds. 3 staff for that.
I was thinking $250 for infants and $200 for toddlers. Reasonable? I currently charge $185 for 2 and up, and 195 for 1 year olds.

Here centers charge up to $250 a week. Home daycare's are usually lower, but I have seen an illegal unlicensed lady charge $200 a week, but that's not the norm for fcc's here which is approx. $124-$150 a week.

I wish I could do just infant and toddler care, but for a fcc with 6 kids max, we can only take 4 under 30 mo and only 2 of the four can be under 18 months so it's impossible. I'm struggling to find a 30 mo or older child because of the pk's around here. Everyone calls for infant/toddler care!

It really depends so much on your area specifically. I've seen as much as $1,400/month for infant care - but thats the big expensive chain center nearby. No home or small center charges that much. If your current rate is $195 I would probably go to $225 for infants.

I'm a center too. So I'm in the ballpark.
$200 for ILLEGAL is mind boggling however.

I was originally thinking $225, until I heard a big box center was getting 260. I want to get close to that.

Here infant care is around $50/day ($250/wk) in centers, the *most* I've heard is $40/day ($200) for home dc. So you're prices sound right for around here as well

I am in Indiana and I charge $30 daily for infant care, with a maximum of 9 hours. IF it's hourly, I charge $5 per hour with a minimum charge of 4 hours.

Here in Cook County, IL, where I live, I tend to charge my parents whatever the Child Care Assistance Program pay us. I'm a family child care. Currently, the going rate for infants is $32.40 per day ($160 per week); for 2 year old is $31.19 per day ($155.95 per week) and once the child turn 3 years old, it's $29.23 per day ($146.15 per week).

By the end of next year, the rate would increase by $15 per week. So, I either have to charge the private paying families the same or more. I would never charge less.

I would maybe go $5-$10 lower than them if you really need kids. I worked in a center once and there were a few families who loved going there (I knew this because they were always complimenting us and most used the girls as babysitters outside of hours) but there was a center across the street that opened up and charged $10 a week less and some families left and went there-over saving $10 a week.
If you get kids easily, I would charge the same.

I'm in DC, so high cost of living. Centers charge 325-425 depending on the Center.

In home ranging from $200-300. I think the average is around $275
