We have a LOT of cleaning to do before I can move the daycare here!
I use Odoban as an all purpose cleaner. For everything actually. Walls, floors, kitchen, bathroom, even in the laundry if needed. You can order it online or get it at SAMs club or Home Depot.

Whoops. I used it with the cleaner. I will go out and buy a different one and try that until the ring b gone gets here.

My husband is going to SAMs club tomorrow so I will have him pick some up. We have a lot of cleaning to do! I am willing to try a bunch of different products!

          I use Lysol's "Complete Clean"

It has a lime and rust remover in it that works awesome for our hard water that leaves orange dingy crusties and stains. I squirt a bit around the bowl, leave it sit a half hour and flush. No need to scrub, it literally melts all the grime right off

I use Odo Ban as my general cleaner. From cleaning the counters to getting out cat urine odor ( we have 6 indoor cats ). For a badly stained toilet I use Bar Keepers Friend. It works like magic and isn't very expensive. Just sprinkle on a wet sponge or rag and use some elbow grease. It is less than $2 here.

I have already tried the stuff that sits on it for a bit then flush. Unfortunately it didn't work! It is really really bad!! I'm excited to try the commercial cleaner (ring b gone) I'm hopeful that it will work!!! Is there a way I can post a photo so you can see how nasty it is?

I haven't heard of that either! Our stores must really stink for household cleaners!

A few years ago I moved back to town and went to visit my dad. And lets just say he wasn't the best at cleaning the toilet. Or years according to him

It was BAD. but I used the ring b gone just like the directions said... There was one spot I had to rinse and out one more application but it looked brand new when I was done!! Don't forget to use gloves. Is very caustic!!

I think a Lyme, rust remover may be your best bet. We had one that was a lot worse than the pic when we moved in. It took major elbow grease and a Lyme remover..can't remember the brand sorry.

Fine grit sand paper is a good one too! I used to work in a glass shop before being a daycare provider and wet super fine sandpaper is what we recommended for getting stains off shower doors without scratching. People didn't believe it would work and rarely tried it but I did it at home and it was great! Then I tried it in the toilet bowl and it was amazing!! It takes quite a few pieces as once the grit comes off the paper starts to disintegrate but its way cheaper than a new toilet!

I've never tried sandpaper before but I use a pumice stone for that icky ring around the toilet and that works great for the stains that the cleaners don't catch. It's sort of the same idea.

We have a new product that we will be promoting from Clorox. Daycare.com will be posting about products that we think are worthwhile for our members in the daycare environment.

                            Clorox® Urine Remover:
Breaks down urine to quickly eliminate — not just mask — odors.

Removes stains quickly with the oxidizing power of hydrogen peroxide and the stain-lifting power of surfactants.
Eliminates odors from bacteria and uric acid crystals.

Removes urine from porous surfaces like grout that tend to trap urine odors.

If you take the water out before using the cleaner it won't dilute it. I read somewhere to put part of a Mr Clean magic eraser in it over night. never tried it.
                              It:: will wait

I get Iron out at walmart, just look for the spray cause the powder works wonders but gives out fumes
