Or the stuff that falls as this slippery, wet stuff and really hard to remove from surfaces in cold weather. I'd rather have the 2 feet of snow than any amount of ice and I am not a winter fan-fall herehappyface.

We do a lot of dancing and follow the leader. I don't have room to bring in any outdoor stuff-at least not in the dc area.

I've been in SE Florida for 18 years now. I mostly forget that there IS winter.

One time we were driving north to Ohio (where I am originally from) and it was November. We got into Georgia and started seeing the beautiful leaves that had changed. I remember saying "Wow, I kind of forgot it would be fall." I have always loved fall too. ::

To to OP, I also keep mine in more in the summer but don't really change things much but we CAN go out in the hottest part of the summer. We just have to always do a water activity in swimming suits and I get tired of it when I feel like I have to. Since we don't have basements here, I do let them push doll carts and march and things like that through three rooms that go in somewhat of a circle. We call it 'doing the circuit'.

The only thing that changes in my indoor space is that I bring my sensory table inside. I also let the kids go around the house on little bikes and push things around. Unfortunately, I don't have any room to add any large motor items.

I'm from MI and hate winter, but I have to agree that fall is beautiful. I think I would miss the changing of the seasons if I ever moved somewhere warm. The colors of the leaves in fall along with when snow sparkles in the winter, is one of the most beautiful things in nature! I do wish however that we did have winter, but it that it would only last like a month...

In the past I have added ride on cars to the mix (can't even do those small little tikes foldable slides without surface covering in ny) but my group is wild this year and I just see injuries and crashing/ramming happening this year.

I rearranged to make more space and we do more music time, free art, large motor songs/dances.

I loved the snow sparkles in the winter too and the fall leaves. I also love the ocean in the morning when the sun shines on it. It looks like sparkling diamonds. Not that I get to the ocean very often but we have some beautiful nature too. I love the pink and blue sunsets behind the palm trees. I guess there is beauty whereever you go. I used to like the ice on the trees up North when there was an ice storm but not the storm itself. One time our entire lawn and streets/sidewalks were covered with ice so my daughter got out her ice skates and skated on the lawn! Good times..good times ::

I wish we had one month of winter too just so the grandkids could see snow. Maybe December would be nice for Christmas. We do have a palm tree called a Christmas Palm in our front yard though. It is called that because it has a bunch of green berry-like things that hang from it all year but around Christmas time they turn red.

One year since I've been here I think we actually had a light dusting of snow on the roofs. There was some of that thin icy stuff on our windshields and down here we can't buy window scrapers. The dj on the radio was telling everyone to get out their pancake flippers, . One person told me that once there was snow here. It is a remote possibility...a very remote one though.

P.S. We do needs sweaters for the 2 weeks a year it gets chilly. We also need them for the restaurants and offices that keep the AC too cold.

Very true, there is beauty everywhere you go. I have never seen the ocean before, but would love to sometime!
