Another baby question.
My daughter is 5 weeks old, but still she was 7.5 weeks premature. She's been doing well. She spent 3 weeks in the hospital and has been home for the past two.
The only issue we're having now is that she dribbles a lot of the milk back out of her mouth while taking a feeding. Up to 1/3 of the bottle. She doesn't spit it out, she just lets in roll out of the sides of her mouth while she's still ****ing.
She's only taking 70 cc's of formula per feeding (about 2.5 oz). So if she drips 1/3 of that out, she's really only getting about 50, and that's not enough. She wants to eat every hour and a half as a result. Her pediatrician said if she gets hungry, increase the amount but never feed her more often than every three hours. I am increasing it slightly but it doesn't matter much because she just wastes it down the front of herself.
I thought it had something to with the bottle/nipple, but I've tried the Enfamil preemie nipples they gave us at the hospital, Avent and Dr. Browns...all did the same thing. I have one more kind to try, a cheap generic bottle/nipple.
She's going back to the doctor in a few days...but in the meantime, help???
