Inspections/Licensing Visits

Now, I will only have 1-2. For the first 1.5 years, I had a whopping total of 6/7 (I can't remember)! I loved that licensor but it was exhausting trying to discuss things with her/get her the files/etc. and attempting to monitor the children effectively and/or "relax" if she came during the naptime break and stayed until they were up and had snack/were playing after.

I didn't vote in the poll because I don't have yearly inspections but I also don't NOT ever have inspections. We are supposed to have unnannounced inspections every 3 years and I've always had them every 3 years. We don't have scheduled licensing visits except for our first inspection before we can get our license.

I get an unannounced visit once per year even though registered homes don't have to have them that often. That's fine with me, though.

We're supposed to have at least one inspection per year, with the every three year renewal visit counting as one. They've been good about it for the past five years, but in the 15 years before that I never had an unannounced visit, only the scheduled renewal visits every three years.

My licensor said I was inspected every year. I had my last inspection in 2008. I never got one after, announced OR unannounced. But it's on my license I did. I have tried correcting but no one ever fixes it. It's OUTRAGEOUS

I went 6 years without an unannounced inspection. Not frequent enough, IMO.

I had the same experience when I was licensed! Its one of the reasons I didn't renew.

I didn't vote because although I believe we're supposed to have one unannounced visit per year, it seems to depend on the licensor. I've had several different licensors throughout the years. My 1st licensor visited twice during my first year of business and found no problems. After that, I only saw him for licensing renewal visits every 3 years. Those visits were always scheduled. My 2nd licensor visited once every year and the visits were all unannounced except for the renewal visit which was scheduled. My 3rd licensor showed up once two years ago, unannounced, for my renewal visit. According to my online profile, I've been assigned to a new licensor. I haven't met her yet so I'm not sure what to expect.

Usually every 3 years- sometimes it's 3 1/2 though.

We have 3 yearly.

We have a large license and used to have 4 early ( 3 unannounced and 1 announced), they got rid of the announced visit, because with warning most people are going to correct/hide any non-compliances, so I doubt those were very productive.

I picked 1-2. We are supposed to get a visit twice a year with one of them being our re-licensing visit. They are all unannounced. I usually only see my licenser once a year.

I picked 1-2, although it was more the first year I was licensed again, in 2011.

It was almost exactly a year since my last visit, and she came Tuesday. I don't currently have a licenser because of personnel changes, but a sub came.

They do NOT tell us the time frame. WI likes to be very non-committal about how many times they might come.
