And either exclude or require a doctor's note if they're not?


I just want to make sure I'm getting this right. I'll start going through my dck's imm paperwork to make sure.

I got the same citation at my last inspection. I made this generic form that I send home now stating that X is going to be due for a physical by X date and/or immunizations, etc.

I have one right now that has a dr note for being late by 4 months. Ridiculous, not my responsibility, it's the parents.

Texas is really starting to grind my gears! It stinks but there's nothing to do except stay on top of the parents, as much as I hate to do that :/

We're lucky around here as nearly every pediatrician's office automatically prints out a new shot record every time one of their patients gets a new immunization, so I ask my parents to always bring those to me afterwards. I haven't had any problems since I started doing it that way.

I have had all my dc clients sign the religious beliefs affidavit. That way I am not responsible for immunizations, it is up to the parents to keep track of that stuff. My licensor didn't even say anything about it at my last inspection.

Have all your parents fill out a sheet that says they do not immunize. I haven't done that yet but I'm considering it.

This is what I do. I don't think it is anyone's business except the parent's. I just have them fill out that they do not immunize. Several of them do, and some do on their own schedule, or selectively, but I just prefer to have them keep that info private.

Everything else was great! Except for that. I really hate that we get in trouble for what is the parents responsibility! Ugh.

Is there a cheat sheet that tells you when kiddos need their immunizations? That way I can parent the parents.

I might have missed the info in the thread but the 4th DTaP is required at age 4-6, wich IMO is a BIG age span....

.....so unless the child is already in school, they aren't required to have it until then.... so what ages are the kids you got cited for?

but if you do that, then you are required to remove all children from care who are not immunized should an illness breakout........

I would just be honest and follow up on it, it's really not that hard

.....so unless the child is already in school, they aren't required to have it until then.... so what ages are the kids you got cited for?

And in NY once a child is in school we no longer have to keep track- the school does...

From the info I have, the 4th dtap immunization is recommended from 15 months to 18 months. The two boys are 2 and 3.

If that's the case, with one of the boys that's my fault for not double checking his shot record upon enrollment.

Here is the immunization form we are required to have. It grays out the areas NOT required and tells you exactly when each shot and subsequent booster is required... (attached.)

For DTaP it is 3 doses during the first year and the 4th at 12-18 months and the 5th at 4-6 yrs...

Still I think you need to pass the citation along to the parents and exclude those kids with the missing immunizations until they are up to date....after all the parents should have some sort of consequence for getting you in trouble.....

I agree, one is excluded until he gets the immunization done and the other boys mother is bringing the proof from his tomorrow. It seems she forgot to give it to me the last time he went to the dr.
