Thank you! So, it's not something I have to complete all at once? I only have until the 9th to finish it ... do you think that's enough time?

You don't have to complete it all at once, but you are stuck with your star rating for 2 years. Honestly it didn't take me long to get everything together that I needed. Do you have a scanner? Most of the things that I submitted I scanned then uploaded. Some things I got off the internet and printed, then scanned, then uploaded so I could check it off-for instance lthe assessment forms. I went to http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/actearly/index.html and just printed off the milestone checklists and they let me use those. For a few of the indicators, like the assessment one, they ask if you use an approved one, but once you click it, it gives a list and also a blank spot for other and I just put other and put CDC checklists. You only have to upload one to show proof that you use. And for a lot of the indicators, you can use say, your handbook to show proof. There is an indicator that asks if you do conferences. You can even use your handbook for that if you have something in there saying you do conferences. I didn't have it in mine so I just added it to it. I would go through and see what they ask for then go back through your handbook (if you have one) and add stuff that they want to see then upload it for them. Just make sure you do go through all the resources on the greatstart site! There is even a webcast you can listen to and it explains some things. There are things you might think that you can't check off, but if you know what they are actually looking for, you can check off a lot more. That happened to me. I was a 2, but after researching and checking out the resources, I now have a 3.

I think that you could get it done by then if you sit down and work on it. I did it at nap time for a few days and it didn't take very long. Plus this time around (they gave us a second chance to see if we could check off more) they have a better system of being able to show proofs and managing documents to show them so it doesn't take as long.

Go for it! If it's not done by the 9th, can you still do it? Oh and hopefully you do have a scanner. If not, the consultant in my area said that you can go to the nearest Great Start center and use theirs.
