However, my sister, who lives in England was telling me that at her son's Mommy & Baby music class they have to sing Baa Baa Fluffy Sheep. She was told Baa Baa Black Sheep is no longer socially acceptable as some people might find it racist???

I just thought it was a cute song about sheep!
A lot of old nursery rhyme have double meanings, Ring-Around-The-Rosey is about the plague.
Since I posted this, a friend sent me this version, which I think I will use.
Help me, help me, help me, he cried
I just need a place to hide.
Come little rabbit, come inside,
I'll take care of you!
I think I'll keep the "safely to abide"
I like your friend's version. I agree with Blackcat when she said that it is sad that we have to change songs etc, to a certain extent. But I feel like this is one I would change because the group of preschoolers we have would fixate on the shooting in the head.

I haven't heard the attitude version ::
I've only heard,
"Little Bunny FooFoo
I don't wanna see you
Scooping up the field mice
And bopping them on the head"
I love that song
Same here, and I also love that song.

All I could say when I read this was "give me a break." I (of course) had to look up the origins, and what I read is that wool from a black sheep was more sought after because you could make darker fabrics without having to dye them, or dye them as much.

Yeah, back when I worked at Head Start (more than 20 years ago) we had to sing "Baa Baa Rainbow sheep" so everyone could feel included.
Funny as a kid, I don't recall anything about that song that made me think of race.... I just thought it was funny that the sheep talked.... ::
