    If Only They Knew...

So this showed up on my facebook feed today from Lakeshore Learning Materials....

Obviously LLM doesn't deal with the kinds of parents that many of us DCPs do

DCB was dropped off 30 minutes late this morning and dad says "Don't worry about him for breakfast (not that I was since breakfast ended 20+ mins ago ) he had two donuts with blue sprinkles in the car". Nice.

I have a mom that does this all the time with her 2 boys, she brings them each with a bag of Shipley's donut holes and hawaiian punch!
My all time favorite time is when I had a dad bring his two year old boy with a ****er at 7:15am. I had another dad and 4 yo boy being dropped off at the same time that saw him with the ****er. The next morning that dad brought his 4yo with a tootsie roll pop ****er. The 4yo watched me take the ****er from the other boy the day b4, so he turned to his dad and asked him if he could keep eating his ****er, and said she threw such and such's away, dad turns to me and asks if he can have it. Seriously?! I told him not at 7:15 in the morning he can't!! And he was the parent that was the first to drop off (even would ask to drop him off b4 I opened) and the last to pick-up and I mean until the very last minute b4 I close. The nerve of some of these parents!

Once I took a DCG from DCM at drop-off and she says "oh, be careful she has cheeto dust on her fingers".

Yep. I had a not even 3 year old come in with a bottle of Coke one morning. Dad was MAD when I handed it to him and said "Don't ever bring crap like this in my house again!" Grow up!

My kids have colors before bed, . They eat healthy 90% of the day so when they ask for junk I have no problem saying yes.

My then 4 year old didn't know what a "fruit snack" was until dcg brought some to share. When I opened the package he said "this isn't fruit". ::

I have since loosened up, I don't want them to be weirdos. His favorite food is still carrots.

Last week I took starburst from the 2year old who chokes on EVERYTHING at drop off.

I have one( baby btw) who arrives with Cheetos dust each morning. Her bag consists of two packs of oatmeal ,Oreos, crackers ,jello ,pudding ,yogurt ,chips, gummy candy, a whole can of spaghetti os and fruit punch. Besides the fact that there is enough in there to feed three toddlers and then some ,there is no way I am feeding her Oreos ,gummy candies and punch!

you know, I dont have a problem with junk food. what I have a problem is that
1.the children will not eat breakfast or lunch for me
2.cry all day for juice and snack
3.they poop like crazy and it stinks
                          4.behavior

I believe in balance, but when a child drinks coffee at the age of 4 and then a whole box of fruit snacks and then parents can't figure out why they are constantly sick what do you want me to say.

I have 2 of those... I have one with the chef boyardee meals EVERY SINGLE DAY and one who comes with a lunchbox full of carbs - pb sandwich everday and ALWAYS has m&m's or choc chips in it (why????), crackers, crackers and some other type of crackers, cookies, a bag of chips, even a candy bar. I leave 90% of it in his bag every day and yet they still keep sending it back in. The kid will not touch a piece of fruit or a veggie for anything!!

I am not a super healthy organic only household, we allow some crackers and cookies here, some ice cream in the summer, etc. I wouldn't even flinch at a hot dog or a box of mac n' cheese (but I would throw some chopped broccoli in it, LOL) but my kids will eat fruits/veggies with each meal too and many times they will choose an apple over a cookie for a snack.

Oh I have one for you all. A few weeks ago DCB came 20 minutes late (which also means sister was late for grade school since they drop her off and then come here - I'm right by the school). DCB told me that they were late because when they got donuts they didn't have donuts he wanted so mom drove him to another place that was far away. I asked him if his sister went there too and he said yeah, she got a tardy slip at school.
