    No Outside??????

Soooooooo a dcp told me today that his dcbs that are twins can not go outside anymore because the keep getting bit by mosquito's here or at their moms house. I told him that I am sorry, but they have to have outside time when the weather permits so he can come pick them up during outside time or keep them at home. Now he is talking about pulling them:confused::confused::confused:

Can I get a break already?!?!?!?!?!?

I bet he's looking for a custody battle with mom and/or an excuse to pull them. That's stupid.

Not to put too fine a point on it...

I figure he is using as an excuse to pull them out. I'm sorry but If he does not pick them up before outside time, they will be going out with the rest of us.

Good luck finding a place that will agree to NEVER take your children outside!

Who is the actual custodial parent? Who enrolled the children with you?

Is he aware that most states REQUIRE outside time for ALL children? What does he think is going to happen when they get to school?

Keeping a child indoors at all times is akin to neglect IMHO.

He could try lightweight, long sleeves on the kids or better yet, you could have your playground area sprayed and have the bill sent to him.

No outside?! That's ridiculous! Does he realize its a requirement? Put on a long sleeve shirt! Maybe his threat to pull is just trying to assert authority or DCM is blaming him for them so he's putting it on you? Maybe an excuse to pull them like others said?

I had a DCD that was always trying to pull some sort of power struggle with me because at home DCM ruled the roost with an iron fist. After a few pointless arguments (over type of shoes, art, walks...) and threats to pull I said if it happened again they were getting an immediate term. That ended it thankfully and when DCB aged out I was not sad to see that family go (they were divorcing at that point too!) ::

Did he come pick up or did DCBs go out with you?

Just a word of warning - last year two of my dc boys kept coming in with what we thought were mosquito bites. We couldn't understand why they were getting them and no one else was. Turned out they both had impetigo

If the kids actually have bites all over them (as opposed to Dad claiming there are bites everywhere that only he can see) that might be a possibility.

Ask the parent to bring in a natural safe bug spray for the kids. Some kids are just magnets to bugs. I would also tell the parent that it is part of life.

Let them pull the kids, they will go to another daycare that will tell them the same thing. It is a law that kids have outside time. It is also a lot of work to find a new daycare they are willing to go through all that again let them have it. Good for you for standing your ground. Chin up it will get better.

Advertise your britches off and don't even let this glitch worry you. Coo coo-
