I love the name. When i married my dh he had children already, we have tried for years w/o luck, but it will happen......My husband asked me about names and I actually was not sure if i wanted to tell him my preference bc by this time i did realize Damian was not the fondest of names with others and my first pick was Damian Asher......still LOVE the name but unfortunately some ppl are just too closed minded and now I "have" to take the whole world into consideration.......blah. We have now settled on Connor Damian...... this thread just unsettled me though and i think we should go with our original choice, hmmmm, we will see. My great gma was named Lee and my sister's middle name is Lee Ann. My middle name is Del Ray. So Lee or Ray could be nicely incorporated also

I think the question here is that this is a Christian daycare.
Its a tough one because Christians should be accepting to everyone regardless. But I have a funny feeling that the other parents wouldn't like it. As the provider I would interview and question their Christianity and why they named their son Lucifer before making a decision.- Flag

I wouldn't care, it just becomes who the person is eventually (the name becomes the person, not the person becoming the name!) I personally don't understand why people name their children Jesus, to me there's only one, but its not my kid!

I don't think I would take the child. Like others have said you have to wonder if the parents want a successful well adjusted child, which may be hard if the child is always being judged for his name (which he will be.) But mostly because I think my other dcparents might find it offensive.- Flag

I just recentenltly had an interview with a child named Duke Oliver. I didn't like the name because 1. I was afraid I'd call him Dukey (like poop) accidentally!2. I didn't like addressing a child as princess Fiona, Sir Carter, or DUKE Oliver. 3. It's just too darn long. I asked if he goes by Duke or Oliver and she said he goes by Duke Oliver.
I wouldn't have not taken him for that reason, I ended up not taking him because of schedule reasons. But it wasn't my favorite name and I'm glad I don't have to say it every day. :P- Flag
